Managed to find the game Chibi worked on as part of his senior project at Full Sail. It uses UE5 and is barely playable.

Chibi, I know you don't like shaving (or personal hygiene) but if you plan to work in Japan, you'll have to shave about every day. Japan is all about formality and professionalism, being clean shaven and dressed formally exudes that. Right now you look like a bum, I wouldn't even hire you to dig ditches.
It's probably fair to say there is a good chance he has a distorted view of what actual Japanese society is like.

Everything in that second screenshot is hilarious. The wall of text for keybinds (game design 101 says you should do that), the amount of UI clutter and mismatched icons in every corner of the screen, randomly outlining some text but not other parts, not to mention the hideous graphic design :story: Just look at that floor texture stretching across the entire screen

I wanted to upload it to the farms but the game is fucking 600mb zipped and over 800mb when extracted

Now compare it to Happy Wheels.

A FLASH GAME FROM 15 YEARS AGO!

Now to QWOP that is even older.

I mean, I know it's basically "just show us something resembling a game to get your fucking diploma so we won't get sued", but people made way more impressive stuff in their free time over a decade ago and this gamedesign abortion implies that they now can enter industry? Yeah, definitely. Fast food industry!

I love when I have shit in the foreground that blocks my ability to see my character.

So selling life insurance is somehow better than the AT&T job, Chibi seems like he really doesn't know what the fuck he's doing, He gets a degree he doesn't use, he wants to teach English in a foreign country then swap to tourism in a place he has visited a handful of times. What's his end game?

I don't know shit about Japan but dont you need to have the credentials for teaching? Not sure self taught Japanese for 4-5 hours a day is the ticket for a work visa there.

Found some gameplay of what looks like an earlier version on youtube. A lot of the assets are still placeholder compared to those screenshots. Is it just me, or is Adam voicing the enemies?

Also, I know UI design is hard, but jesus it looks like what you'd see in flash games 20 years ago. What are they teaching over there.

I wasted 15 minutes of my life playing this.

I don't think i really need to explain why this shit sucks, its evident.

Its kinda pathetic that full sail will accept this as a FINAL PROJECT. First year sure, but final project :story:

What's his end game?
It's extremely difficult to answer this question because Chibi changes his lifelong passion the way most people change their underwear.

Off the top of my head, since CouchGate, his career aspirations have been:
Speedrunner (failed) > Twitch streamer (failed) > content editor (failed) > 3D printer artist (failed) > cosplayer (failed) > game designer (failed) > voice actor (failed) > takoyaki chef (failed) > therapist (failed) > English teacher (TBC)

I'm sure there's a few I've missed but the point is Adam latches onto a dream only to drop it almost immediately after he's not instantly successful at it. The Japan arc has only lasted so long I think because it's not technically started yet.

I think this is the first game that's ever given me motion sickness from the floor texture alone. That's some sort of achievement, I'm sure.

My understanding is teaching English in Japan basically pays jack even by Japanese standards and especially by US standards. Which is why the industry constantly churns through college students and young people who just want to live in Japan for a bit. The only way to make a livable salary is to basically run the business yourself and get clients, which an autistic sperg is never gonna be able to do.

He wants to be in a position where he can never be told to be quiet again. That and trying to latch onto clients to forge life long friendships!

You basically get low cost of living in a rural Japanese area. You wont be hardup for necessary living expenses but not enough to buy all the bing bing wahoo game consoles, donkeykong shirts and onlyfans subs Chibi does.
Also if he is already in debt it will be much harder.

That “game” he “made” is fucking hilarious. I can’t stop laughing. To the majority of us, it’s just an Unreal Engine monstrosity with assets smashed together, but we know this retard was most likely begging his Discord channel for help with this thing. I am pretty sure you could prompt ChatGPT to spit out the bones of a better game using Godot Engine, and then mash assets on top of it.
