I think it was easier for Lex because by the time he set up his podcast, there was already an ecosystem for it. Rogan had to convince people that the format was worth doing while Lex could say "hey come on my podcast" to random academics who were never asked. Also, I don't think it's fair to say he had world leaders on within months. That is an exaggeration. However, I see your point and understand why so many people think he's astroturfed.
