Wasn’t it said that Salah’s mother was buried in some cheap cemetery for foreigners? I have to think that a cemetery for native born Kuwaitis would look better, even with the Muslim caveat of “must be buried within 24 hours after death”.

It’d be like the whole Kuwait saga: showing off dreck because that’s all they can afford, and making the country look bad because they’re horrible at making vlogs (though they love to claim otherwise).

We are absolutely at that point.

Even if nothing comes of this (and I don't think anything will besides a fine), Salad has a Syrian passport. Syrian passports are the second-weakest in the entire world. They are ranked 100 / 101, according to the latest info from Henley Global. Only Afghanistan is weaker.

Of course, Salad is not a war refugee. His dad moved the family before the war started. I don't think that would matter to Kuwati government; they are one of the most deport-happy countries in the world. Half a million deportees in the last 30 years.

He is a Syrian man with no job, no kids, and a family that doesn't appear to be well-connected or wealthy. Salad's status in the country is tenuous at the best of times.

There isn't any "singing" to be done here. The Kuwati government is not going to run a CSI investigation to levy a fine on a fat white streamer. But if the guy assigned to follow up on the case is having a bad morning, Salad might find himself in serious trouble.

The sensitive area: oil fields. Everything else just adds on to that, including the cemetery, the courthouse, people in public etc.

I am living to see what else this "investigation" kicks up (if anything). Hopefully we'll get a rage if nothing else.

It's really as easy as some Kuwaiti dude hearing "oh, she was negative about Kuwait." Then bam, he's immediately corraled and sent off. You'd think they wouldn't waste resources like that, but Kuwait plays with monopoly money. Shit like this eases their boredom.

Eh, idk. They are extremely prideful and sensitive when it comes to the public.
Privately is one thing, but there's a lot of stigma when doing much of anything the West would consider normal in public. FFS, you get warned about chewing bubble gum outside during Ramadan.
