If you go through the pics from her designer page, it is just a gallery of how much weight she has put on over the last five years.

And as much as I am giving her shit, I actually really like this design.

She also does sewing patterns. My friend really likes her dress pattern Woolfork. It doesn't have any real shape, because fat, but she likes the length, the huge pockets, and says it's very comfortable. For being a basic a-line dress it's actually quite flattering on fat people. I think that's the dress she's wearing under the two sweaters.

Her patterns are well written, which is not always a given. She may be a gender special tard, but she does know how to write a pattern.

Edit:

My friend tells me this is the login screen for Ravelry right now.

Please note: they say gay agenda, but the only flag colors used are the trans one. Also, I'm not a guy but I wouldn't think a knitted jock would be all that useful. Also, gross and not family friendly at all.

I hate Casey. I wish there was a viable alternative. I'd complain to them about this, but I sell patterns there and don't want to lose my account. I've tried selling other places but have made zero sales. I don't sell much, I don't advertise, but it's still money.

Has anyone seen the turn back around on acrylic yarn? About a decade ago, acrylic yarn was looked down upon and seen as tacky, cheap, and ugly. Many people would go to local yarn shops or go online to buy fancy yarn and would talk down about acrylic yarn.

People who bought acrylic yarn, including me, explained that fancier yarn is expensive, we liked being able to throw things into the wash without a care, and the texture on our hands wasn't a sensory nightmare like how it was for others.

Now I'm seeing a slow growing wave of people yelling about microplastics and how people should stop using it. Again, I'm seeing the same explanations and honestly it feels like a cycle of this meme:

I understand people don't like it but man it's annoying to hear the autistic screeching every few years.

I love both acrylic and hand dyed yarn. There are uses for both. I'm not in the yarn world enough to hear about the latest virtue signaling but that's what it sounds like to me. Oh noes, not microplastics! Fortunately most of us normies buy what we like and use what we use and leave the drama to the overly dramatic. And I agree, it's annoying.

You gotta do what you gotta do. I don't blame you at all.

I nuked my account back when the "transition" occurred. You could only post patterns that went along with one particular ideology/agenda and you'd get kicked off if you tried to sell something they didn't like. But if Ravelry had been a moneymaker for me, I couldn't have made that decision so easily and I wouldn't have shut it down if everyone was allowed to be represented. Despite my avi, I hate politics in anything but the political space, especially my hobbies. It was so unfairly one-sided I couldn't stand to be there.

That said, I miss it and have been tempted to go back. It is the best place, dang it.

This is a hideous design,
It really is. It’s a bit Rab c nesbitt string vest vibes.
I see her stuff everywhere. It’s the wiiiide and cropped look that’s popular at the moment. Not my thing, but horses for courses and if she writes legible patterns fair play to her.
lol at ravelry. Thankfully once you’re in there there’s no tranny pride garbage on the landing page.
I don’t understand the point in “summer knitwear”,
Linen light cardigan? Summers where I live aren’t that warm so something light for the evenings is useful. Mileage may vary on actually warm places
Not a big fan of acrylic myself, it gives me the shivers, but I’m not one to criticise anyone’s yarn choice. I have a few acrylic blankets from relatives from when the kids were tiny and they were well used and much appreciated gifts. You use what you use in the budget you have for the application you need. I know with quite a lot of Shetland which gives some people the heebie jeebies as well

I agree that a cardigan like that would be nice and useful, I guess what I meant is the amount of patterns currently popular for t-shirts/vests/camis etc, that just look a little ugly, but I understand you can use cotton or linen for those so it’s at least comfortable. I see knitting as more for outerwear and can’t quite cope with the 1970s/80s styling of a knitted t-shirt, but each to their own.

I'm an old fart and remember when acrylic would give you a rash, it was so scratchy. I don't like wool, either. I've also found that as I've gotten older it's harder to regulate temperature, especially in air conditioning. A light sweater or wrap is perfect, easy on, easy off.

I don’t understand the point in “summer knitwear”, why not just make a sweater and save it for winter?
I'm actually a big fan of mesh cardigans or shirts in the summer. It's light and breezy but still enough of a layer to keep you comfy when you step into a store that's blasting the AC. From the material you'd think they'd be too warm and sweaty but a wide-ish mesh is pretty great for temperature regulation.

These are the kind of shapeless boxy sweaters for fats I literally started knitting to avoid. There was a period where it felt like that was all you could find in stores.

I like cotton and linen tanks, my desire to knit really leaves me during the summer though.

quick quilting seethe: people are afraid to use any fabric that isn’t in the “quilting cotton” section of the store. Yes it’s easier to sew. Yes it’s crisp and patterned. But for god’s sake get creative. Cut up an old dress shirt for once, it won’t kill you. And it’s probably better quality than the stiff cheap crap put out by Michael’s and Joanns.

I like quilting with linen tbh. And like 90% of quilting cotton prints are fucking ugly so there's that.

you mean you don’t want to use cartoon death stars, abstract grunge, and acrylic printed galaxy designs from 2011 in an heirloom bedspread?
Sometimes, when I feel like laughing at ugly shit, I scroll through the Timeless Treasures section on quilting supply sites. I swear that brand's mission is to make everything they sell as offensively fucking hideous and tacky as possible.
