the guy who profits from Captain Planet-style propaganda goes hard-in for Trump? That makes no fucking sense. It would've made more sense if he went in full-Democrat and supported Kamala all the way because she'd support more "green energy" directives that would mean more money for his car company, at the expense of other automobile merchants in America.
They tried to destroy Elon over buying Twitter.
Also SpaceX/Starlink government contracts. With Trump those are guaranteed since the Democrats tried to destroy SpaceX over not hiring illegals aliens and refugees forgetting that he can't because of ITAR.

But most of Tesla's fanbase are granola-crunching liberals who believe in the Climate Change arguments. Hence why they bought EVs in the first place. So Elon going hard-right just meant he burned his old fanbase from Tesla. Which is why Tesla's board saw his association with Trump as a liability.

You aren't wrong, but you're missing the big picture.
The guy at the start (or somewhere further up) that reply chain claimed that trump was going to kill a significant % of the republican voter base by getting them to join the war so i was basically just pointing out that was ludicrous.

1) come with the new western requirement to spend a decade or more fixing the fucker you just bombed
2) import infinity Shitholeistani refugees
1 is the result of nation building which we shouldn't and should never have wasted our time with. I'm talking about having a military that can kill people who try to fuck with us, people here seem to think i'm retarded for this but i firmly believe that if we regress militarily it's only a matter of time before people come for our real estate. They're already trying in canada.

2 is really unrelated, it's gay yes but it doesn't HAVE to be happening. If we demilitarize and spread our assholes they'll just come anyways.

The infantry combat we've seen is the kind where the first man who spots the other wins. That's got nothing to do with the hyper-masculine bullshit Trump and his pet Hegseth are trying to fill the military with. You can be the manliest, most testosterone-filled supersoldier in the world, manlier than even Stallone and Schwarzenegger in their prime, yet if the other guy sees you first before you see him, you're bleeding on the ground with a new hole to breathe out of.
You aren't wrong, however, at the risk of whataboutism please consider:

Identity based recruitment is generally a poor idea, no matter which side is doing it.

Okay then the authors of this bill are complicit for not making the immigration components their own bill that no sane Republican could deny without being explicitly complicit in the immigration issue, and instead rolling it into a bigass bill that has parts of it that could reasonably be used as cover for potential complicit actors.

This is fractal retardation in bad faith argument.
Nigger, learn how reconciliation works. It has to be done through one bill. Otherwise you need 60 votes in the Senate.

Oh no! Not my heckin' wholesome China trade agreement!

Xi: "PLEASE, DIVINE EMPEROR TRUMP, STOP FUCKING US IN ASS IT HURT SO MUCH!"

Trump: "lmao no"

I for one welcome a fresh new wave of fucking China's economy. Feels so fucking good. AUGH YEAH
China is not the CCP, and the CCP is not China. With how things are going over there right now, you can bet a fair amount of the Politburo (who have any sense) are considering how to make a quick exit with whatever cash and other valuable items they can before the whole thing caves in on itself.

On that day, the United States and the rest of the world can re-negotiate more favorable terms.

Show of hands: Who here supports Elon over Trump, or Trump over Elon?

I'm guessing most will pick the bright orange lightbulb, but I'm just curious.
I take it you've never heard of the Cybertruck and wondered what kind of person would mass produce such a thing. That's not a reason on it's own, but it's a very, very clear symptom of the reason. Like saying you don't like a chef because his car's steering wheel smells like literal shit.

If there is even a China left to talk to, instead of multiple warring states. Negotiating that will be a minefield.

The CCP does nothing to engender actual patriotism in China as a nation. They're just extracting resources from the countryside.

Agreed. Identity-based recruitment just means the side you're not appealing to won't listen to you out of spite.

There's also the fact that Elon Musk going hard-right just felt weird when he literally built up a company that relied upon EV/Green credits from liberal governments. That's how Tesla got so entrenched during Democrat times and in the liberal EU. Then all of a sudden, the guy who profits from Captain Planet-style propaganda goes hard-in for Trump? That makes no fucking sense. It would've made more sense if he went in full-Democrat and supported Kamala all the way because she'd support more "green energy" directives that would mean more money for his car company, at the expense of other automobile merchants in America.
Several things happened to Elon that definitely played a part in his decision to go from eclectic moderate to hardline conservative. Not well versed enough to say this is the full origin story but I feel these were major factors.

1. Elon got fucked by Delaware courts who ruled that Tesla couldn’t pay him $58 Billion. This was a big deal because Delaware had a claim that they were one of the most corporate friendly states. Well I know for certain Elon took this personal and he blamed Democratic politicians who run the state.

2. Musk has had a public feud with California moving Tesla, Twitter and SpaceX to Texas. Again much like Delaware he’s blaming the Dem policies. Cali sucks.

3. Elon blames himself and leftist Troon dogma for his Gay Son getting mindfucked as a child and being convinced that He is a She. As long as Democrats want to castrate kids Elon will not support them.

4. Biden’s admin straight up snubbed Tesla motors and Elon seethed about that openly on Twitter. 2021 was the year the other big automakers tried to compete with Tesla. Ford had their Mach E and electric F-150 and GM had a bunch of shit I forget about. At the start of his tenure Biden had an EV Summit and every EV was there… except Tesla. And why Biden did that is because Biden is an old fart Democrat and kisses the Union Worker ring when given the chance (Tesla cars are non-union). This was a big change Obama did photo ops with Musk many times and now Biden was giving the cold shoulder.

As for Tax Credits Teslas aren’t trying to be cheap, they’re a luxury brand. The cheapest new Tesla is going to be $50k. A $7000 tax credit matters far more for a Nissan Leaf than it will for a Tesla. And lastly Trump’s Made in America stance and tariff fuckery is no skin for Elon. Teslas are made in America so he definitely wants some Trump Tariffs to go in effect.

idk about that. Since the left started protesting Telsa, I've seen a bit more new telsas on the road around here. Like ones with Paper plates on them. Mind you, I live in Austin. That's where the gigafactory is located.

Most Tesla drivers I see are FOB Indians, which explains Elon’s love for the H-1B visa.
I've noticed this as well but i always assumed the causality went the other way: "He say nice thing about india now i buy!" chicken and egg i guess.

Also indians have an obsession with expensive shit, egomanicas, and technology they don't understand and he's all 3.

I'll place this here. It's the same shit I've been commenting about the Socialists in our government.

Y’know I don’t want 1 party rule. I think it’s important to have two political parties that fight neck and neck as competition breeds success. But I would like to see the Democratic Party go defunct and have a new Center Left party in its place.

Weirdly, I could see the Republican party splitting/the anti-Trump 90's-style centrists Republicans going their own way/maybe teaming up with the few centrist Democrats who haven't completely lost their marbles.

I don't see the Democrat party going defunct (well, defunct in the immediate future; they'll eventually die out/no longer get voted into office) - party leaders are too cucked to chastise their AOC-style radical members, they'd never have the balls to break away and do their own thing.

The more recent trend of the Democrats is to go farther Left. If anything, they see Kamala not being hard-left enough as the reason for her loss, (she was not against Israel, for starters) so their solution is to go full Leftie.

That's Austin. In many other places, especially blue states and Europe, where a lot of people bought EVs, (thanks to the climate change fad) they've begun to deface Teslas and charging stations. Some Tesla owners even had to disavow Elon (by sticking a sticker on the car that says "we bought it before Elon went crazy") and there's even Cybertruck owners who complain that they get treated like shit by people they come across.
