I must've been a masochist because I used to try to reason with people on that board and actually offer advice when of course the majority of them did not actually want to listen to advice and just wanted to jerk each other off about how if you're 5'11.9999999" then your life is over. The most memorable experience I've had is a guy who was acutely suicidal and crying about how he's gonna do it soon but ended up actually listening to what I was telling him, gradually doing a 180 and eventually telling me that he was feeling way better and is going to work hard towards applying himself since he's hopeful that he can achieve his dreams even if it's going to be challenging. Unlike many others, his goals were fairly modest and respectable. Hope he's doing well, he seemed like he was decently sensible, just going through a rough spot.
Lol, I tried helping as well and it's what they want the least. Then I gave up and just decided it was better to observe, and then that got boring with the constant looping of the same topics of "why no girlfriend" "why so lonely". It's like that with so many boards, the same few posts, twitter rage bait screenshots, etc.
What's the point of having an IRC Chatroom if they never use it anyway?
So they can wave what little power they have like the troons they are, when they are actually giggling in some sort of discord together.

The /vr/ trannitor has picked a weird hateboner against me and has been giving me weird warnings over nothing just to inconvenience me. The weirdest one of the bunch:

"Please do not instigate or participate in flamewars. Personal attacks will not be tolerated."

What the hell? All that because of a mild joke (referencing this) over a modern camera mod for SH3. It's incomprehensible and asinine. These days I do about 70% of my posting via 4chan.gay to avoid being targeted by unfair bans but it might be time to make it 100%, it's like playing a rigged game of Minesweeper.

I was glad the fuckers got hacked and doxxed but it was all for naught. They're still the same mods, still engaging in the same overly punitive moderation style, and the altchans are still dead.

I never got why people bother with discussion forums where they get their posts or posting rights removed on the regular. Why waste time and energy engaging with a place where you clearly aren't welcome?

Anonymous posting is in itself its own different thing with its own dynamics that can't simply be replaced by common message boards (such as this one) easily. If you can't understand why people like screaming into the void, you'll never get it. The problem is that the only anon IB getting any activity is 4chan, with its documented problems. The moderation sucks, but for people who like the format, what can they do? The hack was a golden opportunity to migrate to other IBs but nothing happened. Next hack should be permanent so maybe people can finally move on to other IBs and rest free from tranny oppression (optimistic I know).

Other IBs like.... ? Everything is so fragmented that there was like a 0% chance "the community" would move over. Even without the hack, they could "move" today. It's easier just to stay on 4chan and bitch about jannies, CAPTCHAs and etc.

Like many members of the public, the inhabitants of 4chan are really, really good about bitching about things and really, really bad about doing anything about it. A casual read of /pol/ would have you thinking there's a new American Revolution afoot. However, the posters tend to be fat, poor, manchildren angrily posting from their parents' basement, waiting for them to die to get their inheritance. Since they never leave the house and spend all day shitposting, they are in no danger of doing anything. Of course, there will be the occasional sperg-out where someone from /pol/ decides to grab a pistol and shoot some place up, but let's be real, that's like a 0.0001% incidence, and no more common on 4chan than any other "community". Statistically, there have been just as many Youtubers who freaked out and shot up a place as 4channers.

Mods always want a pat on the back for actually doing their jobs.

Whole thread is "MODS=GODS" as usual
if I were the young man I would cheer this on, thinking they had a change of policy and would ban all twitter screencap shit. Now I know it's just a mod that is sad because he ran out of hotpockets and need internet randos to cheer him up.

I praised them once for a public ban when they slapped it onto a gay, bara furfag retard but then throughout that year others would get away with it and invade other threads on other boards too. They always selectively pick and choose what to put it on.

Went there for the first time since the closure. I haven't been paying much attention at all, but is the site in it's current state really this slow? /a/ used to he one of the most active boards but a single thread seems to get bumped once every couple of minutes. It's kinda depressing.
Despite the gaslighting it's obvious a lot of people have stopped using the site since the hack. I am one of them.

Looks like it's another several days where my IP gets mistaken for that Shadowfag spammer on /sthg/ and I'm banned from 4chan for something I never did. I fucking hate my router.

You're probably behind a CGNAT and sharing IPs with others. See if your ISP offers the option for a unique IP (you might have to pay extra)
