Here's an actual appreciation story. A Georgia graduate fresh out of high school immediately left their ceremony to help their Burger King coworkers, Burger King "rewarded" them $10k.



On the one hand, he has an amazing work ethic that many people would love to have somebody like him on their team. However, it feel like he will be manipulated by his employer to "be the person to count on," therefore being another cog in the machine. If he's content with his position, more power to him.

I'm not trying to talk down on him. This just makes me realized how invaluable the workforce is, but the work culture of "job first" feels demoralizing.

I had the opposite experience in my family, the gen x would do the whole "we dont care if they're black" kinda thing, but the boomers? my god the boomers threatened to shoot and the black person was a hypothetical (I come from an area with race riots that absolutely exploded during the boomer's young adult lives, and then the niggers played the victim about the whole thing so you're not even allowed to talk about it. so that might have something to do with it also.) I'm starting to think boomers will vary wildly based on where they come from, how much lead water they drank, and how many psyops were done in their hometown growing up.

With how schools are just handing out HS diplomas to any illiterate tard with a pulse, maybe he’s understandably more proud of being good at his job than of graduating?

That's a reasonable perspective. Experience is more valuable than education in the job market. Again, this also shows how corporations and managers take advantages of great work ethic by having their employees be slaves to their positions/career with little outside benefit. I do wish him the best of luck with whatever he decides to do.
