Side note: The way the boxing coach talks about Ian makes me feel like he genuinely cared about him, which I wouldn't expect a boxing coach to really care beyond training. Fighter-coach relationships tend to get close especially if you are doing a fight camp. You are in the gym almost every day for probably 2 sessions to prep for a fight (which sucks on the body) - going to develop a relationship of some sort with a coach. The other thing he said at the beginning about Ian dealing with trauma in camp is something he deals with before is also correct - it's stressful, it's hard work, as you go on you are getting beaten up. You can watch Brandon Buckingham do his sparring and sessions into camp and he has a bad session - breaks down crying in the car because he feels like he's not progressing. Then another session he gets KOed in sparring. It's hard, stressful training and the coach is there not just for the physical training, but the mental prep.
