No, Newgrounds isn't dead (yet), but the administration is doing their very best to make the site unusable. Back in the day it was known as a hub for content creators, inspiring hundreds of people to put digital pen to digital paper and make something amazing. Unfortunately anyone with skill leaves as soon as they're lucid enough to realize what a stinking shithole they're in and seek greener pastures.
And, since the moderators are usually long-time members of the community... You guessed it, they're massive failures at everything.

Take, for example, Stephen Micek (Knights on Newgrounds, chat moderator). He deeply desires a career in film and animation, but after years of college and "practicing" this is the best he can do.
Predictably, most people like Stephen hang around to leech off of anyone else's meager popularity. Any critique or photoshopping of his """art""" is met with a complete meltdown (and a ban).

NekoMika ("luna raines" irl) is a tranny who said "fuck it" and just decided to grow his hair out. Old posts would include pictures of himself with a 5'o clock shadow and a half-assed attempt at putting on makeup. Also he has a schnoz that would make a jew blush.

"BrenTheMan" was a more recent addition to the administration who immediately used his status in the community to flirt with underaged girls (most notoriously SubliminalVirus). Conveniently, when people started bringing this to attention, all relevant posts were deleted, and intriguingly, the forums were added to the site's robots.txt to prevent web crawlers from archiving posts. This means sites such as the Wayback Machine won't ever be able to display these posts. Interesting!!

Speaking of Bren, a close friend of his known as "Mich" came into the community one day and was immediately made a mod. And why not, with such amazing technical abilities such as following online tutorials to make amazing software like Conway's Game of Life! Fierra (Brittany Barret), Mich's girlfriend (likely a goblin from the shadow realm) looks like she was born in a car accident and will abuse the fact that her boyfriend is a moderator to get rid of people she doesn't like.

The community got worse and worse over the past two years to the point where it's nothing but a circlejerk between a handful of regulars, after culling every worthwhile they can think of. Many of the old users were permabanned without reason and many more just left on their own. The moderators will apparently immediately ban you from the chat if you're suspected of being among the old users who were purged.

They're a group that's constantly under the assumption that they're going to be harassed, doxed, raided, trolled, etc etc. They're fucking insane because it has literally never happened, but they need something to make a big deal of.

I remember going onto Newgrounds and places like it to play Flash Games during down time at school back in the day. And even then I thought the site was kinda garbage. Low quality flash games as far as the eye can see and some of the stuff people say and do on there just made me cringe.

Any good animators that started off on there moved on from it long ago and made something of themselves.

This caricature was snipped from a flash movie by one the clock crew. I think the guy was Tom Fulps brother and sounded like he used the banhammer a lot.View attachment 199600

Wade Fulp was definitely overzealous as an administrator. He was in charge of "community" stuff, which at the time boiled down to policing the forums. He would frequently flip his shit over any small happening, or god forbid you call his wife fat.

Despite being Tom's brother, he was cut from the staff when the site downsized. A couple years back someone noticed that he listed his new amazing job as a used car salesman on his twitter page and made a thread on the forums about it.

This led to him getting doxed pretty much instantly and the dealership was flooded with calls asking for Wade. He's no longer listed as an employee, though you can still find his number through the dealer's directory.

Naturally the idiot who thought it was a good idea to reveal personal information about him was a moderator, too.
