As someone who's spent a decade between Europe and Japan high speed rail is extremely convienient and I miss it to be honest. I think this is falling outside the scope of Politics at this point though.

If we took the money we spent on illegal immigrants and George Floyd memorials and wasted it on high speed rail I could rent a cabin and get drunk and wake up in Vegas with the wife though so that would be my personal preference over pride parades.

The thing is, the farmers relied on that money being used on them. So yes, they will be broke without USAID money, and with the alternative being to sell food to other countries being fucked up by the tariffs, they're fucked. These domestic farmers will have to close and sell to some Monsanto clones here in the States. Which of course, will lead to them voting Blue come next election.

Also, there's tons of people in the Red States that don't even have farms, that live on welfare, that USAID gives money to.

This is my biggest fear. If the Democrats get control of Congress, which is already statistically likely based on past midterm elections, this will happen. Endless impeachments and bills to roll back every EO. If they get a veto-proof majority, everything Trump ever did will be erased. They'll reopen every closed agency and rehire every Fed with raises and backpay. They'll codify the agenda they wanted with President Kamala.

This is why i am so critical of Trump and Congress. They needed to get out of the gate running and do stuff. they won't even do easy stuff. His whole legacy will be erased and the dems will do 1000x more EOs that will be codify with the help of the republicans.

Do you seriously think all this was going to happen with margins that small in the House? Republicans in swing districts aren't voting for it, Democrats obviously aren't going to vote for it, what the fuck do you expect? At some point you've got to realize that's how politics works. You don't get everything, but the doomposters on X and you go full retard and forget the most basic information on why bills aren't getting passed.

The republicans controlled the house under the last few years of Biden and Johnson passed more dem bills than Pelosi did. This is such a loser cope. The margin is an issue because over half of the house and senate hates MAGA and the voters. Voting them in again won't change that.

The motivation of the midterms is to say, "Hey, we got some stuff done, if you want more stuff done I need more people that'll support my agenda." But no, instead it's all doomposting about GOP losing the House and Senate because they didn't get what they wanted in 5 months. At some point, critical thinking must set in for you, unless you're a troll like Fatpacks or John Badman.

But they won't get more stuff done for voters. I have lived long enough to know republicans. I voted Trump because he was out to destroy the failed party and make them work for the voters. He failed and now we have an abomination because republicans want to be losers. Case in point the senate trying to remove No Tax on Tips from the bill even though that was a Trump campaign promise and is 100% supported by everyone but the crooks in congress.
