Why do people even get involved with modern gaming. It's cancerous and gay. I'm getting through some old DnD games and Daggerfall on DOSBOX and it's awesome.

When I saw that gaming was going downhill, at around gaymer gate, I just switched to pirating old Crpgs (MM, Wizardry, etc) and never looked back.

I use emulators for some console stuff like PS1/2, N64, etc. I haven't spent a dime on a new game in over a decade.

It's wild, games are at a point now where there's far more coming out than I could ever keep up with, and you could still have a life-sized cultural catalog of just the greats to explore even if you impose a cutoff around 2005.

Plus game design has gotten so codified that I realized I'd rather play an uneven game that nothing else is like than a game that's "good" and "polished" but only because it rigidly follows our hyper-sterilized modern notions of what a good game is allowed to do.

Bring back the development philosophy of blindly throwing interesting ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. Stop making games that are entirely conceived as "what if [game X] except [feature from game Y]".

I was in with queer shit several years ago, and for some reason, the handle txtfiles conflates with that faggot "foone" to me.

I couldn't seem to find any relation between the accounts myself, but maybe someone else would be able to confirm?

There's a practical use for it in that only Edge (specifically Edge Canary) and Firefox allow you to sync browsing history and favorites across multiple devices AND let you use browser extensions on Android. Firefox on Android is a buggy mess, while Edge Canary is not. But yeah, like someone else said, he probably just uses it because it is the default browser. Better than using Chrome at least.

It's this dude, part of the Archive Team, that saved shit like Geocities from crumbling to dust. I swear he had or has an handle named something along the lines of "Textfiles".

Foone i am willing to be is related in some fashion but i haven't come across them personally.
