Another great juicy element of this: The mexican military, particularly the mexican marines (the most compotent ones) are extremely pro US. They do loads of joint training ops with the US military and have close friends with a lot of us. The mexican marines also despise the cartels to a degree we couldn't even imagine, and everyone knows that's a huge part of what this is really about.

I don't think they would outright refuse orders or enact a coup or anything, but they would not be happy about essentially being told to side with the cartels over the US military. I'm sure that bitch has to consider this in her strategy.
