I think this social decay was all extraordinarily predictable as an outcome of "lockdowns". It's unfortunate I have to come off as sitting on my high horse like one of those dickheads that has all the answers and knows everything but anyone with the capacity to think would have and should have recognized enacting a mirror world totalitarian state to "fight covid" (based on absolutely no scientific principles whatsoever, mind you - straight from the keebler elf's mouth he made this shit up as he went) would eviscerate the social contract.
