It's truely not that difficult which is the most fucked up frustrating part of all this. I have a couple family members who are immigrants and they took the time and due diligence to go through the process legally. You basically have to get a sponsorship, pass a very basic highschool tier government/US history class, and you're in.

Funny enough, California did lose a bunch of progressive ballot initiatives. In 2024, they shot down making prison labor illegal, shot down rent control, and even raising the minimum wage. Actually, I think every progressive ballot measure lost. It was a bit ironic because you saw states like Missouri legalize abortion, higher minimum wage laws, and even a Medicaid expansion at the same time. Californians are weird like that. They'll vote Democrat, but then shoot down some of their most progressive polices.
