Funny enough, California did lose a bunch of progressive ballot initiatives. In 2024, they shot down making prison labor illegal, shot down rent control, and even raising the minimum wage. Actually, think every progressive ballot measure lost. It was a bit ironic because you saw states like Missouri legalize abortion, higher minimum wage laws, and even a Medicaid expansion at the same time. Californians are weird like that. They'll vote Democrat, but then shoot down some of their most progressive polices.

California, as a state, usually votes against left wing policies. The democratic process is then subverted by judges, politicians, and lawyers from San Fran and LA who will either repeal or pass whatever they want in spite of how the populace voted.

Never forget that there are a LOT of republican voters in California. More than many red states actually. My main theory on this phenomenon is that Dems/Illegals/niggers can't read and only vote for offices and don't bother to vote for props that also appear on the ballot.
