In kenosha when they justifiably shot Jacob Blake and the news spun it as "they shot an innocent man in back" when the reality was "they stopped the kidnapping of small children" the local PD said "well fuck it, see how you like having no police" and they set blockades at both ends of sheridan to watch. They weren't asked by the mayor to shut it down because the mayor had floydnosis and didn't want to be made to look like 68' Richard Daly fucking with protestors. Maybe he hated that statue outside the dinosaur museum my grandma used to take me to when I was a kid.

In LA, the govenor/mayor can blame destruction on trump escalation and Trump can blame Newsome as derelict in duty. It's win win for both camps. The optics of the Mexican flag waving are going to do more for the GOP than the DNC in the midterms, but this also gives Newsome major "RESIST' spotlight heading into a primary in 2 years, if the dems even decide to have one.

Trump isn't likely to force his hand and overplay what looks like (and is) a Mexican irredendist movement.
