Trust me I know they don't deserve a damn thing because of 3 key things.
1. History is all about one guy, group, or nation beating up another guy, group, or nation. If you can't comprehend that, you do not get to speak about history.
2. Mexico barely controlled those places anyway, inviting Anglo settlers in to fill the vacancies, these Anglos didn't mind Mexican suzerainty until Mexico City started demanding they give up their autonomy and cultural background- what especially rubbed them the wrong way was the demand for conversion to Catholicism. The need to speak Spanish was fine because they learned enough of it already, but the desire to Catholicize the Anglos was too much.
3. Mexico was a shithole that frankly even if it did have people worth a damn up north, couldn't have kept it anyway because the Mexican state before 1890 was even more a clown show than it was now. Santa Ana and his cronies kept gang-banging the Mexican state and its people like the proper kleptocrats and kakistocrats they were.

And maybe its just me, but I hate this mythos people seem to have of this fledgeling Mexican democracy being stamped on by the meanie and slaving Uncle Sam because we needed Texas and California for more negro-whipping facilities in the 1840's and the noble abolitionist Mexico stood its ground against the ebul slavers. Mexico in the 1830's and 40's was an exemplary third world nation before third world nations were even a term. Santa Ana and his continual reprisals and military coups would be the kinda shit these Twitter morons would hate and seethe over, but since one country was whiter than the other, Mexico gets to be the innocent wittle victim.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has filed a motion requesting that a restraining order be granted within two hours (from the time of the filing) to block the deployment of National Guard and Marines.

The filing says the Trump administration intends “to use unlawfully federalized National Guard troops and Marines to accompany federal immigration enforcement officers on raids.”
