Sony hate thread

Jak and Daxter was planned as a trilogy and there's nothing to add to the story or to the gameplay , so there's no point going back to it, especially considering even the devs of the OG games don't want to.

The rest of them do kinda sting (especially Killzone since there os a lot of potential with a game from the Helghast's POV), but considering modern Sony, I'd rather they stay dormant.
There is concept art for Jak 4 but ND decided to scrap it.

It barely even resembles Jak which makes it even more disgusting to look at. Its a blessing in disguise that Modern ND has never considered revisiting this series and is content to make cinematic, "high art", games that are glorified walking sims and shallow deconstructions on morality.

Sooner or later they'll remake the remakes or remake things made a handful of years ago.
Do yourself a favour, don't turn around look up TLoU.

Herman Hulst said he put a stop on a remake happening because he is done with the IP and won't allow the studio to work on it, as he wants them focusing on Horizon.
Which is retarded because a Killzone VR game would have been awesome. Sony could have remade all of their FPS games in VR and made bank off of them.

Sony's first party line up really shat the bed this gen, I would blame the GAAS push but even last gen while not as bad was lacking first party games.

You'd think Sony would outsource some remakes and remasters of older games out(not PS4 games), so least they have something out quick.

Everytime we ask for this another remake is announced. Sooner or later they'll remake the remakes or remake things made a handful of years ago. I remember thinking it would be fucking retarded to remake something as timeless and relatively impressive as The Lion King with photorealistic animals. Not only did it happen but the remake got a sequel. Its a curse at this point.
In the case of Resident Evil, I actually hope that's true. Except for the Gamecube remake. Leave it alone.

You mean like TLOU1 getting a remaster a year after its release? Or that remaster getting another remaster on a system that could already play the original remaster?

I’ve gotten to the point of having a “guilty of being shit until proven innocent” approach to modern remakes, but I have more hope for fan remakes and source ports. They generally have a strict rule of “keep everything that was in the original but make it better”, and even if there’s some feature you don’t like, you can just ignore it.

There's the remaster on PS4, then on PS5 it got remastered again as Part 1. Then again on PC, if you want to count that.

you are right its not even just the GaaS push its the fact that Sony adopted the mentality Microsoft had during the XB1 era that they legitimately believe they can simply coast of third party games. the Arrogant Sony we saw during the early PS3 came back with the PS5 and now they are finding out again, Nintendo,Valve, and Microsoft are offering better shit and services so theres no reason to invest in Sony at this point

Former SIE president Shuhei Yoshida, who was one of Sony‘s public faces during the marketing of both PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR 2 ,has revealed that prior to Sony’s modern licensing deals – which have seen the re-emergence of Patapon and Everybody’s Golf – the company considered licensing some long-dormant franchises for VR adaptations. Speaking to VGC as part of an upcoming interview, the former Sony executive reflected on the classic PlayStation titles that were remade as VR experiences, such as the forthcoming Lumines Arise. When the conversation shifted to other PlayStation franchises being considered for VR adaptations, Yoshida revealed that a VR adaptation of the PS1 cult classic Jumping Flash was in the very early stages of development. “Some developers wanted to license Jumping Flash to develop it into a part of their new VR game,” Yoshida said, stopping short of revealing which developer was working on the game. “One of the ones that actually happened was that the original creator of Fantavision asked for the license and remade it in VR.”

Fantavision 202X was developed by Cosmo Machia, a developer comprising former Fantavision staff. VGC then asked if Vib-Ribbon had been considered for the VR treatment, to which Yoshida loudly laughed before answering cheerfully: “No.” Jumping Flash was a platformer developed by Exact and Ultra in the early 90s. The game was published by Sony, and released in 1995. Jumping Flash was last referenced in 2024’s Astro Bot, where one of the game’s collectible Bots was modelled after Jumping Flash’s main character.
As if we needed more proof that nu-Sony hates their old Japanese stuff with a passion. *sigh*
