Certainly to some extent, but not in a major way. The main thing trafficked was Mexican brick weed. In the early 2000s many in the marijuana culture were already growing their own supply with hydroponics and crossbreeding creating much higher yield strains.
So around 2005 you could find a dealer for brick weed (20$ 1/8ths) a dealer for mids (30-40$ 1/8s) and a dealer for kush/dank (50-60$ 1/8ths).
Now the majority of this is being grown locally. I live in a legal recreational state, inittially dispensary prices were higher than street value. This corrected itself and there is parity, and sometimes lower prices at the dispensary.
You cannot find mexican brick weed in legal states in 2025, mostly because why would you want to.
That type of trafficked commodity was on the market due to the dearth of competition, the need to traffic it in bulk and was usually coated in some chemical deodorant. Weed culture even then was very conspicuous and many people wanted to parade the high quality weed, discuss the strains, the hybrid, give it a retarded name like cocopuffs. The brick weed was not viable in a market with above board competition.
As far as the traffickers bottom line it's unlikely to have great negative effects. The amount of money you could make from importing a pound of Mexican brick weed is negligible compared to a pound of cocaine, maybe to the 40th or 50th power. A gram of brick weed had a street value of 10$, a gram of cocaine has a street value of 100$. But the gram of cocaine has typically been cut with other agents such as benzocaine, lidocaine, phenacetin, baby powder, or caffeine. A gram of pure cocaine might be worth 500$ when factoring this in.
Since many states, particularly border states, police marijuana and cocaine with equal punitive measures, the risk of moving a pound of cocaine and a pound of brick weed might be parallel. The risks may be equal but the reward is 50 times higher for the cocaine.

You are correct. Their pathos of "the paradox of intolerance" is flawed, to be generous, because their definition of intolerance is an ever-moving goal post where for instance, even questioning the trans agenda would outcast you as "evil" irrespective of your reasoning or validity.
I'm sure their delusions of grandeur have them fail to understand that THEY are paradoxical to their own logic of them being intolerant. I want to give the age old conclusion that it's all by design.
I actually agree with the principle of "parodox of intolerance" at face value. Society should not be expected to tolerant intolerance that interferes with their way of living. I could say that the Left now is falling under their own logic of "paradox of intolerance" since their beliefs are clearly shown to be harmful to American living.
