Nukes were used twice in human history on a foreign power. Nowadays they're just a force multiplier used for political pressure rather than actual military purposes. The last time someone considered using one in earnest it was one of the factors in the US it was a contributing factor in his dismissal. Nobody wants to open the lid on the mass utilisation of nuclear weapons because people are aware of how much of a shitshow it could be and would make that state a pariah not just in the eyes of its enemies but its allies too. If you insist on American involvement, arms and bombings, maybe, but boots on the ground would just be a colossal fuck up.
If nothing happens the Iran talk will simmer down for a while but if there is any kind of action that escalates into something more expect it to become a big topic of discussion.
