I wanted to point this out earlier, but another parallel to our situation is South Africa. I remember watching (I think it was Africa Addio, a documentary you should all watch) that a significant contributor to the end of Apartheid was Black economic migration, and how addicted the Apartheid economy was to cheap Black labor. I thought it was all foreign migration; but it makes sense that even domestic migration has nasty effects when you create an envious permanent underclass. I also remember someone (maybe Jordan Peterson?) talking about how disparity really only makes people bitter when they're directly mixed in with people who have way more than them. It also meant that white SA was never ever going to partition itself into a White state and a Black state to save itself.
