The performance of the US against the Houthis and their tunnel industrial complex leaves much to be desired.

Based on what I've heard plus my own intuition, the actual primary objective of this operation is to try and create a position of strength for Sunday in hopes to get a better deal from a frightened Iran. Likely also the reason behind Ukraine's recent drone attacks on Russian bombers. However this tactic rarely works and tends to sabotage the goals of the ones employing it, especially when the other side are religious nutjobs who couldn't care less if they live or die. If reports are accurate, Iran refuses to go to the nuclear talks and is done negotiating. So it's back to the old fashioned way, I suppose.

Turkey or Egypt is the only effective loud opposition I see remaining against Israel should Iran fall in terms of regional influence. The Turks and the Israelis are already quarreling somewhat over Syria.

Reuters itself: Trump reiterates how Iran should come crawling back to the negotiating table. Also Israel has reportedly lifted its order to the citizenry to take shelter, which would imply that that Iranian drone horde sent out to retaliate has been annihilated already without so much as leaving a dent on the Israelis.

War Hawks in the Pentagon are shrieking now that Iran's Air Defense has been shown to be nothing more then smoke and mirrors. If Israel was able to just walk in and kick Iran in the nuts, and then walk out, what could the USA do? I would not put too much stock in these articles though. Stuff like this always comes out when "Officials" are trying to lobby for a course of action. It doesn't necessarily mean the US Government will actually do it though.
