"YouTube pranks" were never funny. Pranks that happened to be filmed and put on youtube back when the motto was "Broadcast Yourself" had the potential to be funny because there wasn't money involved. It's safe to assume that every prank video after the partner program was introduced is fake and therefore not funny. Especially egregious with faggots like Vitaly, Fouseytube, Jaystation all making channels dedicated to pranks.

The only humorous part of the prank channel fad was the "in the hood" pranks that depicted every nigger as a dumb hyper aggressive ape and watching the "pranksters" stumble over themselves when people called them racist for filming niggers being niggers in their natural habitat.

Outcomes like these will always be extremely bizarre to me. He was found not guilty of malicious wounding, so clearly they decided that he was justified in using his firearm. But then he was found guilty of unlawfully discharging a firearm? How does that make any sense?

It possibly comes down to letter of the law. MALICIOUS wounding would imply that it was done not out of self-defense, but specifically to harm the other person without provocation. That doesn’t mean that firing the firearm at all was lawful. You can be guilty of firing a firearm against the law without ALSO being guilty of doing it with malicious intent.
To make a cartoonish example, you can have a vat of toxic sludge buried in your lawn. If someone fell into it, you may not be guilty of purposefully putting it there for the person to fall into, but you are still guilty of buying it in the first place. Even if the person was chasing you and falling into that vat saved your life, you’d still be guilty of having and burying it.
