2025 Israel vs Iran War

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

Even Israel admits that Irans retaliatory strike killed a few of them. Is the iron dome weakening?
"Iron Dome" can't stop every missile, it just stops 90-95% of the ones that would have hit something, in descending order of importance.
Part of what makes "Iron Dome" effective is its (the radar system & command software's, rather) ability to determine which missile is going to land dead-on an aircraft hangar versus land on an appartment complex versus land in a fucking parking lot or empty field.

Iron Dome technically it is named also made for short-range rockets and such, typically fired by Hamas, PIJ and Hezbollah.
Much of what's being fired at Iran's tardrage retaliation is David's Sling (and where still in use older Patriot missiles) and Arrow 2/Arrow 3 anti-ballistic missiles, though much of the same triage applies.
Of course people tend to colloquially call every tier of Israel's missile defense "Iron Dome".

There's YUGE debate over its effectiveness, because there is an argument to be made that even if you only knock out 70-80% of the incoming missiles, it's still a huge win. But there's also an argument to be made that ANY missile getting through is a loss and the cost isn't worth it. From a WMD perspective, the argument is that even a single nuclear, chemical or biological weapon slipping through is still a catastrophic loss. There's also the bleeding-heart-liberal argument that Israel getting to knock its enemy's missiles out of the sky means that they care less about the plight of the poor dindu arabs because of muh disproportionate response n shiet.
