Idk the thread provided a sort of survey where you can deduce actual gaming "hobbyist" behavior and their current interest? The thread had around 400 replies, and the level of indie slop is staggering compared to new games. We have seen a revival of CRPGs and literal RPG maker games that would have never survived the "normie" base, that should say something.
If you went on /v/ for more than 2 years, which I doubt most of this thread has, yeah it's a good indication of what people play. It's always been like this, what you call "indie slop" has always been around(read: anything that a mainstream normalfag gamer hasn't heard of because it isn't a AAA game). There was always a good mix of old/new/obscure and fanmade.
How new are you that you're horrified that there is people playing games you don't like or don't know about on /v/?
You are on dog food , about every game that is released and had major traction towards it are sequels or remakes
Again, nobody gives a shit about new releases except for people who unironically consume this slop with a smile on their face(or pretend to hate it like Coby does). Actual gamers just play games and move on. There is enough games on my own personal backlog alone that I doubt I will ever try every single one of these before I die, so why would I care that there is no good new AAA titles? Let the gaming industry rot, I don't give a shit. I don't need it.
The only people who complain that "there is no good games anymore!" are normalfags who don't have a backlog and cannot comprehend that you can simply play an older game, of which there is thousands for every single niche and every single taste. Going full on doomer because a multi billion dollar company released a sloppy product based off a popular IP(in other words, a day that ends in "y") makes you full on retard, you should expect that at this point.
Tired of these zoomies and fake gamer tourists crying that gaming is dead. Even if you're just browsing 4chan, there is regular game chart threads with hundreds of titles that anons spoonfeed you that you can play right now, how fucking new are you that you can't even find one of those?
As a matter of fact, Coby should give this a try, find one of those images and just have a marathon where he plays all these games /v/ recommends. He keeps crying that "old good, new bad!", so he should actually play some of these older games(ones he never played, I don't give a shit about him replaying some 3D platformer he finished when he was

. He claims he's burned out on gaming, well there you go, instant whitepill(or he outs how much of a casual he is when he can't get any of these old games running without chat helping him, like he couldn't get Fallout London to run, it's content either way.)
