Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

Yeah, that feature was a giant fucking mistake and it's been going since launch, I think?
I remember the first year of 2 being fun just like the original. I cannot recall when it switched over to everything being LGBT, but it had to be around the death of 2 (maybe 2019?).

Always interesting going through the general Splatoon community now where it is heavily gay focused while coincidentally having a growing pedophile problem. Games are fun, but community wise it is a lost cause. Easily Nintendo’s most avoidable community, only rivaled by Animal Crossing.

Dude, I was just going to post about Mario Kart DS.
As someone who didn't buy the new Switch I've been watching a bunch of videos criticising Mario Kart World to see what its all about and I can't get over how stagnant the series is in terms of content, not counting track bloat, and how hard they're resting on the success of DS.
Look at this model of Donkey Kong:

Its so emblematic of how they had to work with a battery potato that has a touch interface and that still didn't stop DS from:
- Doubling the track count by introducing retro tracks (I'm not counting Super Circuit porting the SNES tracks, nobody cares about Bowser's Castle 5)
- Introducing the versus mode with customizable rules
- Introducing that any character can use any kart
- More accessible battle mode that you can play against the AI (extra points because this was also back when it was still elimination based)
- Custom flag creator
- Motherfucking mission mode
- Motherfucking Dry Bones

And nothing since has made any strides forward other than 8 adding 200ccm, which World cut again.

DS also played the best. I have more nostalgia for DD, but DS controls literally flawlessly. People cried about snaking but that made it take more skill than usual.

MK8 is my personal most hated MK because something about the camera or draw distance or something makes it impossible to know when a turn is coming, and the controls aren't as responsive as they should be.

Well, I've got good news and bad news regarding my Switch 2.

The good news is that I'm not alone in having this problem and that I've found out what's causing the freezing issue that it's been suffering since launch. The bad news is that it's more than likely a defect on the console itself (rather than the dock) and I'd have to send it it to Nintendo for repairs.

The upside is that I had half-a-mind to pay for the extended warranty (something I decided to get with any major electronics purchase after my old 3050 gaming laptop died) and the employees at GameStop said that I can just exchange it for a new Switch 2 when they get them in.
Thank God... Nintendo used to ban that kinda stuff though, I distinctly remember something like that in SSB and it got removed. The good ol' days.
I remember that, it was centered SSBU's stage builder mode and trannies complained that their stages themed around LGBTQIABBQBYOBB+ rights were being deleted and banned.

IIRC you can still get banned for shit like that in Splatoon 2/3 but it's something that the community made a "silent" agreement on not doing so.
They will add that and the missing Koopalings (I miss playing as Lemmy) as overprice DLC. Watch. I betting on lots of overpriced DLC of shit that should have been in the game in the first place. That also includes free roam.
And, like Mario Kart 8's DLC, expect it to be free to entice people to subscribe to their NSO + Expansion Pack service.

I'm surprised they haven't taken it away yet. Let the trannies cope and seethe. Kids shouldn't be assaulted by that stuff.

Sounds like I need to get Splatoon 2 & 3 and do some reporting :story:

When Nintendo reports sold units they count selling stock to retailers.
Before looking into it I thought it was 3.5m or so in the hands of consumers. I found the blog posts and news articles a little misleading.

If I got this wrong I apologize.
I hope Nintendo sells a million more units.
Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo changed their definition of a sale from sold-through (to customer) to sold-in (to a store) to artificially pump up their numbers. People believe Sony have sold more consoles than they have, because the figure is sold to stores, not customers.
Sony did this because the PS5 is selling behind PS4, like for like, so Sony changed the PS5 sale data from sold-through (which is what the PS4 figure is) to sold-in (which is how they display PS5 sales).

PS5 has only sold 65 million (top end) to customers, but they've sold 80 million to stores, which creates a narrative that it's more popular than it is. Case in point:
Sony managed to sell 80 million PS5s by doing absolutely nothing, so I wouldn’t expect this to be any different.

A Direct has been announced....

for DK Bananza. Knowing Nintendo it's probably just going to be 15 minutes of "here's how you make DK slap."
Fans: "OMG they are going to show K Rool"
Nintendo: " Here is DK fighting 100% original villains to save our new rock people that look completely out of place in a DK game. Buy our DLC for Diddy Kong."

Anybody remember Mario Kart DS? It had a similar feature, and I played it constantly. Not one fucking fag flag, ever. Good times.
That's because the game came out in 05 and 90% of LGBT identities and symbols didn't exist until Tumblr 2012. At best, you would find a rainbow.

7 at least tried to switch things up with the vehicle customization and gliders/water. That era of Mario Kart between Double Dash and 7 was easily the best in terms of them trying some new things, along with having peak course designs. 8 really faltered in terms of new tracks, having them be visually pretty, but not too memorable or have that great of hazards to spice things up.

Actual advancements in the genre mostly came from Sonic this past decade+. Hell, a good chunk of World's mechanics were done in All-Stars Racing and Transformed over a decade prior. Sad that SEGA more perfectly built off of DS than any Mario Kart that came after, leaning hard on the Mission Mode aspect to create a decently robust campaign.

I think they may do some free updates, really expecting a random surge of DK content next month to coincide with Bananza, but yeah. Sadly I think DLC will carry this entry.

80 fucking games and the only thing that Nintendo has to offer is this, Metroid, and Mario Kart. Let's hope that Metroid wouldn't turn out to be shit.
How many massive games did you expect in the first six months? Mario Kart, DK, Pokemon, Metroid. Thats a great start. Its not the original Switch but what is?

Idk, it's just not really convincing if they're upping the price tag and a lot of the third party stuff is just the usual run of devs cashing in their old stuff for the newest console.

If they wanted me to get excited for the price hike, then I get to raise my expectations for whatever they release on it.

If you're on a Nintendo system for third party games you're doing it wrong or somehow travelled thirty years back in time.

I'm just having a lot of fun seeing Nintendo fanboys running defense with "it's to replay Switch games with higher fidelity". Especially when a lot of those games either require additional payment or just don't work on the Switch 2. At least the PS5, as far as I'm aware, runs all PS4 games.
