Maybe the CIA should have just let Mossadegh nationalize the Iranian oil industry instead of couping him and installing the Shah so the cheap oil kept coming?
Every time the CIA foments a coup, shit goes sideways thereafter. No Shah, no Iranian revolution, and likely little to no Iranian sponsored terrorism.
that's assuming that mossadegh would have kept the country more stable and successful in the long term than the shah did (otherwise he would face the same discontent and unrest that ended the shah)

If we do go to war and they would regime change, who would they replace the Ayatollah/old government with?

I submitted a tip to ICE today. I had suspicions and have been digging for the couple of months I've been employed there. Finally people got comfortable enough around me to admit my company employs illegals. It sucks cause this might be the best job I've ever had, but I heard someone say recently, "Doing the right thing isn't easy." Has anyone else here reported stuff to ICE? How long does a response take?
I dunno, I still haven't gotten a response. But that's really all I can do.

Maybe the Pahlavis. I mean the Shah was really pro West. Don't see why we don't just restore the monarchy.
"Regime change" in terms of Iran would mainly mean removal of the clerics and the IRGC, so hypothetically all the power would be delegated back to the civilian government, which currently has a reformist president.

the pahlavi dynasty is alive but as far as i know they're total neolib globohomo sycophants now, so i really doubt that they would have much support in iran
I wasn't talking about whether the regime would be popular I mean that the US would want them back. They'd be the perfect puppets. Besides, after years of the Islamic Republic being terrible people might be nostalgic for the days of the monarchy.

So you're blaming the "Deep State" (remember, Republicans run all 3 branches of government) for Trump tweeting about bombing Tehran? Come on, man. You're better than this. It's okay to admit that Trump shouldn't drag us into Israel's war and you'd be against it
I took some time to think about it. Trump's in check. There's no way out. Trump just has to take an L here, and it is an L, and mitigate the disaster. I think we will wind up in this war now. It's inevitable. How out of control it spirals is up to Trump and his ability to navigate an ever expanding conflict. I don't think it's good for the long run, but the short term is we don't have a choice. This conflict is coming to our doorstep whether we like it or not. I hate the Muslims, even more than Israel but unless this conflict galvanizes them into civil unrest so they can be taken out all once, I don't see this being the end even if we kill the Ayatollah.

I do however see this as being the beginning of the end of the US and Israel. Kids are watching and Bibi is doing Israel no favors. The future generations don't understand Islam. They don't get why it's so fucking terrible. I don't know how this will play out, but I really think this might signal a significant change in US Israel relations by the time it's over.

Highly doubt they let anyone associated with the current regime remain except bureaucrats and maybe some military officers. But the civilian government would be gutted.

What r/military cares about right now:

r/military are just retards mad they weren't able to scam the VA system like the niggers and spics did and got their VA money.

The Mullahs and the Ayatollah himself are widely unpopular in Iran even if they are supporting him now. I would go so far as to say Iran was more conservative and religious under the Shah. That being said i could see them try and bring back the Pahlavis but they would be just as unpopular and the zionist Iranians in the west who left in the 80s would be the only ones supporting it

TRUMP: "I want to see no nuclear weapon in Iran & we're well on our way to making sure that happens."

POTUS: "I don't know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network & say it so that people listen. Thank you."

Well, whatever Trumps decided, it looks like the UK will be joining.
Starmer is desperate for a war, any excuse to draft white boys and come down harder on people's speech. He sucked cock hard to get that deal, considering the US has issues with our retarded speech laws, I was sure it'd take longer. Starmer needs to blot out how much of a failure he is on the domestic front, he'd agree to war. Blair 2.0; this time with less charisma.
I hate Starmer so, so much bros. Sorry for sperg.
