Then from behind them they hear the shattering of the basement window. From the door to the window behind them, they turn to face the new noise only to see a strange cylinder being lobbed through and an intense explosion a short second later.

A white flash goes off blinding both along with the explosion causing their ears to ring.

Anisa is disoriented and tries to get to her feet. She can't see but is aware there are others in the room. From squinted eyes she can make out four figures storming into the basement. They grab Ian, place a hood over his head, and bring him to his feet. They quickly extract him through the door. Anisa's balance is off and her senses muddled leaves her unable to stop them. She cries out, "Don't poop on them, Ian! You have IBS!"

Minutes later Ian's senses have recovered from the stun grenade although his sight is blocked by a hood. He feels the rhythmic motion of being on a transport of some kind. A confident voice is heard, "This is Green; we have the target," followed by the digital chirp of a walkie-talkie.

The hood is then removed and Ian sees for the first time who is kidnappers are.

Four men are sitting at the back of what appears to be a van. They're all in black wearing tactical vests and protective gear. The stoutest one of the four speaks.

"We have you now, Idubbz. You're OK."

He pulls off his balaclava. Ian is stunned.

"Phatty!" he exclaims, "what's happening?"

Another man speaks, "It's fine, Ian. You're safe now. She can't hurt you anymore. You can trust us."

"Who are you?", asks Idubbbz.

He removes his balaclava. His identity revealed.

"Sam Hyde!? Take me back to Anisa now!"

Sam shakes his head and groans to himself, "This is going to be a difficult deprogramming."

There's no way he'll be the one who starts the divorce.
