What is his k98k replica? Like an airsoft replica or did he drop 500 bucks on a Yugoslavian mod98? Looks like the latter.
The mossberg isn’t worth 300, especially if he bought it used. That’s a 200-250 dollar gun new, I’d imagine someone spending all his money on this stuff is probably going to go the cheap way and get a relatively new one off a forum for 150.
Only other gun value I disagree on is the 10-36, that’s a cheap 38, and online retailers drove down the market value on those hard over the past 3 years. 200 dollar gun at best.
He’s definitely paying a lot more in ammo though, I’ve done little bit of larping and most events use 500-1000 rounds of blanks for the weekend per person, if he’s shooting blanks then he’s buying bulk and spending a lot of money on it. 8mm blanks aren’t cheap either.
No way to tell how much ammo he has but most gun autists only purchase by the case (500 rnds for most calibers, 200 rnds for shotgun calibers). I don’t think he’s doing that because he’s 19 and probably spending money to look cool over being able to actually shoot them all, so he’s probably only got a case of ammo for everything he’s using or is cheap. He’s probably got a case each of 12 gauge, 38, and 8mm blanks, cheap 8mm and maybe one of 7.62x39 (he has a chest rig full of ammo in one pic), and piecemeal of 45LC and 410.
I see $1750 of guns on a good day. Plus an estimate of 125 dollars of 12 gauge ammo for 200 rounds of Rio buckshot on sale, 180 dollars of 38spl for 500 rounds, 50 dollars for 100 rounds of 45 LC and another 40 dollars for 3 boxes of 410 with birdshot, 200 dollars for 500 rounds of 7.62x39, 175 dollars for 500 rounds of the grimiest most unsafe and hangfire prone Turkish or Greek 8mm known to man, and 360 dollars for 500 rounds of cheap corrosive 8mm blanks from Atlantic wall. That’s assuming he’s not going to larp events to shoot 8mm blanks all the time and has only done it once.
That gives us a total estimate of about 2880 for guns and ammo. That’s above average for a 19 year old gun autist, but not unreasonably so. If he’s not paying rent and all his money is going toward hobbies and gas for airsoft matches it would be pretty achievable at that age. But it does mean he’s probably not saved a single dime for his future.
I’d be willing to bet he needs that go fund me money.
