I honestly thought Rachel got a great send off. The marriage proposal, tainted by “tell us about how you cheated on her” and jokes about the dead “friend,” strikes me as a far more cutting blow than the production team just suddenly being mean to her.

And of course they’re trying to keep the door open to bringing her back so it makes sense they didn’t want to burn that bridge overtly.

And most importantly, it was funny. Possibly the funniest moment of the season.

It wasn't a real proposal, it was just a bit for the show. Ring probably came from the gumball machine. At one point she actually threw the ring on the ground and said "i've got a real one at home"

All said, I agree. It was a "proper" send off, and I doubt we've seen the last of the beast, unless she threatened litigation.

Nothing in Rachel's life is real anyway. Fishtank was Reality for her and she couldn't handle it so she heads back to her make-believe land.

If she cannot gain control of a situation by portraying herself as a victim, then she doesn't want to be there. A place that's recorded 24/7 with thousands of viewers at a time means that her narratives cannot work in the Tank.
