This is my first time watching an episode since he switched over to full time pony bullshit. So far I find the lesbian stuff very annoying. The gay shit in SU was funny because it was clearly not supposed to be hot, whereas I know people are jacking off to these lesbian ponies.

So happy to see the SU cast again and the way they're written and drawn felt pretty seamless all things considered.
I loved seeing the Powerpuff Girls cast show up, shame the Gang Green Gang wasn't in but I'll gladly take the villains we got.
I think the episode peters out over the course of its run time and suffers from going on for too long for its own good (its still playing as I'm typing this and is all ponies now), but the dance party is a good end point for SU purists.
There are some undertones of Sonic resenting the ponies for their popularity and them not being able to coexist but Tamers didn't turn it into a spiteful guilt trip at the viewers, thank God.
Overall very happy with it.

It's amazing the difference I felt watching the MLP segments vs the SU segments.
The MLP segments, despite the higher quality of animation feel so much more lackluster. The special effects and frames can't hide the fact it's a bunch of gay-lesbian melodrama and OC powertripping. No matter what seems to happen we always return to the same shit, the same unearned victories, the drawn-out dialogue, the drama and relationships that feel forced and stilted. The characters somehow feel way too bloated with traits but none of them have any characteristics.
The SU segments meanwhile I'm thankful feel just as amazing and stupid (in a good way) as they were before. Bartleby and Sonic are the same couple of fags we've loved. What drama and relationships are there are handled and resolved with the same quick Tamers charm.
The end of the episode was the dance party for me. I hope we can return to more Sonic Underground goodness in time.

pretty much agree, the pony shit is drawn out waaaaaay to much. It could've ended at the dance party and it would've been perfect

The first 30 minutes were genuinely amazing and the funniest shit he's put out in months. Then the ponies go home and it turns into complete and utter dogshit. Seriously, what the FUCK happened?

So why was that one episode? You could have broken the SU part off and be fine, and even then the pony stuff could be almost two episodes. Still good to see he's still got it with SU though.

Maybe it's the fact that it was the fabled Sonic Underground episode we'd get if we stuck around for a year, that we 'trust the plan', that we do not give up hope in Tamers releasing Sonic Underground. Instead, what did we get for waiting a year, trudging through slop after slop? We got teased, a half a 'movie' of Sonic Underground. The first half of the episode was (even with the ponies) Tamers in his element. Random shit being thrown together, the SU cast turning a mundane situation into something extraordinary. Beautiful. If we'd just gotten that then maybe I wouldn't be so MATI.
But instead, we got half an episode- maybe even more like a third considering how much the ponies kept butting in and stealing the spotlight, especially with the fight against the PPG cast. Call it pony fatigue but when the ponies showed up and beat up the Powerpuff Girls and defeated them with little effort I kept on rolling my eyes throughout it. Despite both Bartleby and the ponies both having effortless fights, Bartleby is usually quick and defeats his enemies through sheer absurdity. Mojo Jojo getting away? Run to Japan and punch the Earth to collide with the escaping Mojo. The ponies meanwhile have to make such a spectacle, they need to eat up animation and screen time to dazzle the audience with how awesome and powerful they are. They need to monologue and brag about how they're so powerful before using some bullshit attack. Bartleby is a man of action, the Ponies are creatures of words.

I'll give the pony stuff one bit of credit, I had my biggest laugh of the episode at Chrysalis eating the pony because the animation was so goofy in the midst of so much boring drama

I think this random guy explained it better than I could.
Though even if it's a very pessimistic take, I still think this enormous episode delivered the usual humor I enjoy from Sonic Underground.

Personally I’m torn between two theories. Either some discord troon animates the lesbian pony scenes for him, or Tamers just likes yuri hentai and he gets to use it a lot more in his pony shit. The gay shit in SU is indeed played for laughs, however, we can see traces of the lesbian shit in later SU episodes, such as the scene where Alena spanks Flora for like 45 seconds.
I watched a decent chunk of the pony shit (until he introduced his gay femboy OC’s) and as much as I dislike it, I’m not ashamed to say I think every Chrysalis scene is hilarious. She is the one saving grace of the pony shit imo.
