A: Non-RPG indie games had been en vogue for ages before UNDERTALE came out.Perhaps I am a bitter, envious person - but I still cannot get over how this formula got popular. After Undertale, I think, almost every indie game was exactly that - badly drawn pixel RPG about feewings, just like UD itself. I think it took some time for a non-RPG Indie project (That wasn't Fez; But it was talked about negatively) to be discussed in the mainstream until 2019-2020
My point was that the specifics of Undertale were adopted by indie creators, even if they were not making RPG's (Generally relating to design and themes). I probably should've worded my complaint as: "There was more incentive for cookie-cutter pixel indie games after UD's success". Other points you made are more substantial than mine, I agree. Those were always a thing, long before UNDERTALE and they'll exist long after DELTARUNE ends.
Schedule I was very obviously giga-astroturfed by the industry. It was the only game anyone talked about for like a week and then everybody stopped talking about it entirely because the marketing shekels dried up and the target audience didn't actually give a shit. Not indie, it's at minimum A or, given how big the marketing budget seems to have been, AA.Does this count? I haven't played it.
People stopped talking about it because it's not a terribly big game and there's only so much you can do in it. Same thing happened with Valheim, and plenty of other games that are early access indies.Schedule I was very obviously giga-astroturfed by the industry. Even late 2000s stuff like pic related still had some "le problematic" stuff in it back then, I completely understand why they won't do the things they did back then, but at the end of the day, No troon who cares enough is gonna buy your shit.Reminder to take back retro games and "Y2K" shit and make it racist. Both of those things are cool and we shouldn't have to deal with troons taking it for themselves. The year of the Chud is upon us and it's time to enjoy cool things again.
H-HARMONY KORINE?? THE GUMMO FAG IS IN VIDYA NOW??Funny new development: Xigger libtards are mad at Troonjeet 🄰 because his publisher is a celebrity zionist

Don't most of those games get popular unorganically? Mostly when the quality doesn't match the given praise; Because there were pretty good indie-games deserving their praise, aside from all else.giga-astroturfed by the industry
I blame Youtube/TikTok. Some schmuck makes a video on a second-rate indie game and their child viewerbase pushes it to the top of Steam for a couple weeks. Schedule 1 is 100% an example of this. It even looks like Roblox.Don't most of those games get popular unorganically? Agree, I've observed the same thing. A few cases stuck out to me - like Baldi's Basics - which had tons of videos made on it, but then the hype wave died just as quickly half a year later.I blame Youtube/TikTok. I still can't believe that someone made their own guro mascot horror based on a Baldi fan song.Agree, I've observed the same thing. A few cases stuck out to me - like Baldi's Basics - which had tons of videos made on it, but then the hype wave died just as quickly half a year later.
And then unlists it because xhe couldn't handle the fame, GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGI still can't believe that someone made their own guro mascot horror based on a Baldi fan song.
The worst part is that it's really well animated.
I only know about Fundamental Paper Education because of samefoggotry it's fans did on the Sharty - didn't impress me, honestly.I still can't believe that someone made their own guro mascot horror based on a Baldi fan song.

Astroturf is the default marketing strategy online, its more obvious for flash in the pan streamerbait games but everyone does it.Don't most of those games get popular unorganically?

It's a stretch to say it's 100% astroturfed because the themes of the games or the aesthetics (space lesbians like it was made for Andrew Dobson for one) attract a certain demographic.Astroturf is the default marketing strategy online, its more obvious for flash in the pan streamerbait games but everyone does it.
Spotted the guy who doesn't have Always Run enabled in GZDoom!Doom is a slow game, did all the pornography format their brains and make them forget?
Most Y2K and earlier stuff is quiet provocative or offensive already - that's why most of the "Fans" of those games today seem to be detached from the canonical plots and ideas of those games. You know that feeling when you ask yourself: "Are we playing the same game?", as you see another person go on about the game you like? That's what interacting with those people feels like. Check the Postal or Doom Community to subject yourself to that cancer, if you wish so.Reminder to take back retro games and "Y2K" shit and make it racist.
I feel like it goes double for Doom, because it attracts both the hedonistic faggots and progsocks faggots alike. Otherwise, same rules and the same pipeline apply.Check the Postal or Doom Community to subject yourself to that cancer, if you wish so.
