I think it's about 50/50. And they build on each other.

If he imagines the devil called him from a 666 phone number and posts about it, it inspires weens to spoof a phone number and actually do it.

And if a ween calls in claiming to be his demon clone, he'll keep imagining demon clones calling him.

It's pure insanity and its glorious.

John has commented about it, I think in a video, and says it's just the number he was assigned and would change it if he could. Also something about it not being the mark of the beast.

"...666, which is not the mark of the beast, that is just a number in a phone number assigned to me by the phone company which I can not change, which I would change if I could."

Oh okay, that makes sense. I haven't watched his videos cos I want to save the neurons in my brain from frying.
