Yes, from this, and what I've read, which is mostly from Ms. Isenberg's White Trash, racial classification in the 13 Colonies was pretty close to the Latin American model of assimilation. That distinctly nasty form of race slavery that the race hustlers condemn the U.S. for was not an original sin, but something that grew up after the Revolution, getting nastier and nastier until the Civil War killed it.

I also remember reading, in the same book, that some of Sally Hemmings' children were assimilated into White society.

It is my contention that aim of the master class during colonial and early republic times was to create an separate race of half-breeds, who would be house slaves and concubines, and whose children would be assimilated, therefore mimicking Islamic White slavery or Latin American slavery.
