Starting a new war with Iran is indefensible. Iran will now most likely strike American millitary installations and we'll soon be fully committed in yet another forever war in the Middle East that didn't even need to happen in the first place! My best buddy is going into service soon and all this shit is popping off now, fuck man

If Iran still has the ability to launch a missile counter-attack at American bases and military installations in the Middle East there and are actually aiming to hit something of value there is a good chance it could actually escalate into an invasion.

i'm not so sure about that.
first, after this weeks exchange with israel their capabilities aren't in great shape anymore. i don't think they could do much serious damage.
and second, they are fully aware that they are outnumbered and outgunned to an extreme degree, and that strikes on american assets would likely result in severe retaliation, much more severe than anything israel has been doing. i'm not sure if they are willing to take that kind of damage.
