There is absolutely no reason for Iran to ever attack (first strike) Israel or the USA with a nuclear weapon. The only scenario where this would be realistic (IMO) is if the Iranian government manufactured a bomb, gave it to a terrorist, and the terrorist then blew it up in Israel or the USA.

I'm sure it's been stated ad nauseum in this very thread, and in the media landscape more generally. Why would Iran launch a preemptive attack on anyone with a nuclear weapon? They might be able to destroy Israel, but the USA would totally obliterate the entire country. Is the entire raison d'etre of Iran for the last 50 years to build a nuclear weapon so that it can collectively kill itself? It's highly doubtful that this is something the Iranian political leadership has ever considered. Maybe their goat-fucking militia allies dream about that kind of thing in the desert.

Same reason why North Korea has never turned the South into a nuclear wasteland, or actually launched a missile at Hawaii or California. Getting a nuclear weapon allows for regime survival, while firing it at the USA means regime and national destruction. IMO there is a high chance North Korea would have been defeated in a conventional war a long time ago if it had never developed nuclear weapons (maybe after 1991... blah blah blah)
