So Trump asked (rhetorically, according to the media), "Why wouldn't there be a regime change?" That is a far cry from him making formal comments about such a thing.

Anyway, you can criticize Trump for the airstrikes while simultaneously acknowledging the fact that the Ayatollah fucked around and found out when he recently said "Death to America."

My take on the airstrikes is this: I don't think that it's a formal declaration of war, nor do I think it's going to start any war. That said, I don't want this to be an escalating situation, obviously.

I don't think there's been any shortage of us 'swinging our big stick' the last few decades. If anything, the world needs to be convinced that we're capable of not bludgeoning some hapless country to death with our engorged schlong every time we attempt to pivot on the world stage.

This is such an absurd point to me. We were stationing troops in foreign countries as part of a military operation in both instances, in regions where Iranian proxies/militias were known to be operating, often with the explicit task of countering those forces. Are we really so oblivious that, as a people, we are shocked and appalled that our soldiers were attacked by the people they were sent there to fight? Terror bombing civilians should be shocking, attacking soldiers in a warzone, while tragic for all involved is literally what war is.

The idea that Iran would not respond to American military in the region after and even while we financed and armed Saddam's invasion of their country - an invasion in which they were driven to such desperation that schoolboys were running through minefields to clear them and repel better armed and trained troops - is insane. Was what happened to any soldier in Iraq or Lebanon tragic? Yes. I blame the retards who armed Saddam Hussein, goaded him into attacking Iran, and then cavalierly sent American troops into the shitstorm of bitterness that they engineered. I don't blame some Iranian schlub whose only idea of 'America' is the people who got his brother's legs blown off.

I'm not trying to be the chudjak here but idk why everyone is so desperate to declare this a happening. regardless of what America does, Iran can't meaningfully retaliate. nor can Israel stage a ground invasion, nor can the US without risking riots. war is a massively unpopular proposition, even Dubya had to circumvent congress to get a war started, and that was while the dust cloud from the collapsed towers was still settling. if Trump tried anything like that, the Democrats would be absolutely giddy for the opportunity to impeach him for the 69th time. the most that can happen, essentially, is Israel and Iran throwing drones and missiles back and forth, which is a contest Israel will most likely win.
