This isn't the first time that Autumn had whitewashed one of her ocs. The callout blog received some info from an ex of Autumn's and she whitewashed their gift oc. And once Autumn was told about it, she apparently had a breakdown over it. I am not surprised that Wis encouraged Autumn considering he still shows nazi behaviors.

I do think that it's more this case, particularly as her excuse is that she 'can't see dark colors too well. It fucks with [her] brain'I think she isn't consciously whitewashing, just like most "whitewashing" incidents play out. People will screech about how you're racist because this character is shade #4a310e and not #452e0c EXACTLY, actively ignoring lighting differences, overlays, or pastel palettes (or god forbid the artist is learning to draw dark complexion and isn't an instant master). This is despite the fact Autumn herself falls into the latter categories. Off the bat she seems to prefer lighter colors and simple styles and that's before she starts abusing the fuck out of Multiply layers and bad watercolor filters. Her characters are going to look a little lighter, that's how colors work. If you spammed Overlay on a picture of a random black man he's gonna look like he didn't vote for Biden.
Now, what happened to Heather? I can't explain that at all. That's gotta be some form of internalized racial hatred especially because she's canonically a sadist to other rabbits.
I'm not too shocked that she preaches on her high horse about the evils of designing black characters when she falls for the same things normal artists do though. She's just a hypocrite of the highest order.
That and the fact that all of her sketches are on a white canvas means that she probably does have trouble seeing stuff on her tablet. There's a reason that most people tell you to draw on a grey/similar canvas in digital art, as staring at a blank white canvas isn't great for your sense of color on screen.
I also imagine her gritty textures make her colors look darker, so she's intentionally picking lighter colors to counteract that, and when there are not filters, everything looks way too light.
All in all though, it's really funny to see her being devoured by the very system that propped her up. If you told me that Autumn was involved in a callout about whitewashing, I would not have believed in a million years that she was the callee, and not the caller.
