The EU is going to try to force Ireland's hand to implement the hated hate speech bill that public opinion got binned last year. I know this is a US politics general, but I (perhaps selfishly) hope the US exerts pressure to make the EU and Irish government back off.

EDIT: I don't want to go to jail for saying nigger or faggot on 4chan while Abdul gets off with a suspended sentence for rape.

I'm not fond of how people have tried to make up new crimes; "hate speech"/"hate crime" and it's really harassment/assault but with a bad motive (whatever that means)

Doesn't it make more sense to subsidize the agricultural industry to lower prices?
We already do, a fucking lot. There's an ethanol plant near me that used to run 24/7 making fuel ethanol for cars. The government stopped subsidizing corn for fuel, so they pivoted to drinkable alcohol.

The corn for fuel subsidies were based on ethanol being more "carbon neutral" to burn compared to gasoline, but conveniently the people pushing for ethanol forgot that corn is harvested with gallons of dirty farm diesel, oh and ethanol is corrosive to pipes so it has to be trucked everywhere, burning more dirty diesel.

Subsidies are fine, but usually end up being the most retarded possible outcome.

Hate speak is fake and NEVER let your government propagandize you into believing it is. Speech is speech. You call someone a nigger, or other ethnic slur, ok. I guess they can cry. You haven't done anything the state should "do" anything about.

They backed off after the public raised hell about it and Musk stepped in. I'm just hoping maybe Vance or Trump can do something about it, because I don't want my country becoming like the UK where police show up at my door for shitposting online.

It's never a good idea to divert your food supply to fuel recreational vehicles.
