1. They should still have to identify themselves. How would you like it if a van full of guys pulled up to you, with masks on, and just grabbed you and threw you in the van? Plenty of the people they've arrested have been US citizens, too. They show up without even warrants like they are supposed to. I'm surprised no one has 2A them in self defense
And given that ICE agents are being doxxed, their families being threatened and harassed for doing their jobs, and some with serious cartel ties, do you really want the agents to go around advertising who they are? how would you like it if somebody followed you home and started threatening your family just because somebody didn't like your job? thats what ICE agents are facing right now. and the "arresting american citizens" thing, that has been blown so outy of proportion that its absolutely stupid. one example that happened just last week, a sheriff's office did a fucking drug bust, and people came out to protest it because they thought it was ICE doing and ICE raid, and been seeing other agencies being mistaken for ICE doing their job because some people are literally retarded and can't read "sheriff" or "FBI" or "ATF" on vests and stuff.
2. We already have record low taxes for them. Why should we increase our deficit so that Zuck can get more money?
Most people don't understand how the taxes for the wealthy works, and that isn't your fault. if you did, you would be horrified how little tax they pay under democrats and confused why do they donate to politicians that want to "raise your taxes". well, here's the rub; Republicans want them to pay taxes, while democrats have made a show of raising the rates but left massive loopholes open so they don't pay those taxes to begin with. ao, let me ask you something; if i offered you a 30% tax rate with no rebates, incentive, and no way to get out of it and a tax rate of 45% with loopholes, rebates, and other "incentives" that could potentially eliminate most of that or even get you a refund, which one would you choose?
3. There's non-boomers who this effects, too. Like kids who are getting their school lunch funding cut or people on medicare and medicaid.
The problem is that a lot of spending is not even for the intended people, but the "administrative costs"(i'e sone fat fucking bureaucrats stuffing their pockets), and then cry poverty and emotionally blackmail or cut things for the people intended instead of the bloated bureaucracy. So, no, the school lunches are not being cut because bad orange man is being a big meanie, but because some pencil-pushing dipshits don't want to give up cushy perks, and that is assuming there isn't anything criminal going on.
4. Those factory jobs aren't coming back. It'd take decades and no one wants to work in them. Prices will go up on everything.
Well, this one i agree with you on. what usually happens is that these factories open, unions muscle their way in and demand ludicrous bs to the point where its cheaper just to shut the factory down and offshore it to china or somewhere where they pay them like a dollar per day and lax labor laws so that bs can't happen. Southern Ontario is the greatest example of that as a lot of people have deluded themselves the province is some manufacturing superpower, when in reality, its barely staying afloat as more manufacturing slowly bleeds out elsewhere. the GM plant in oshawa is basically on life support right now, and any factory they do build, its under heavy subsidy like the stellantis EV plant to the tune of 15 billion dollars of taxpayer money going into it.
5. Giving contracts out to his buddies. His cabinet picks being completely unqualified.
This is nothing new for any administration. hell, there are masive scandals and criminal investigations going here in Canada precisely because of this, and our parliament was essentially shut down to avoid handing over documentsd to the RCMP for a criminal investigation as the liberals shovelled 400 million dollars into their own companies or companies they have close ties to, or he other one where they paid millions for an app during covid that was only made in a weekend and only cost a couple hundred thousand to make, and found out that company was essentially a shell company that didn't even do the work.
Shit, the current safety minister(the guy in charge of firearms) doesn't even know what he's regulating and admits he doesn't know, and had to recuse himself on a terorist file. i wish i was making this up."
6. There's already plenty of land not filled with forests that are not being built. We don't have to kill our national forests so that Trump's buddies can make money.
on the same note, that means here is plenty of land to plant new trees, but this one i agree with you with caveats. obviously ya gotta be careful where to build, but at the same time, you gotta watch out for activist fuckery where "everything is a national forest" where the shrubs across the street is a "bational forest" or the pubble in your driveway is a "wetland". if there is prime real estate that isn't a national forest, then yeah build there. that exact same fuckery has been tried in Canadas by designating a forest on a pipeline route as "the great bear rainforest" or large swaths of land "caribou habitat when it previously wasn't and can't give any justification why it suddenly is other than a company wants to build a pieline through there.
