New York City is going to turn into a full-on welfare state. And shit goes tits up they’ll blame everyone and everything else except their own fucking stupidity.
NYC is still doing better now because of it's economy, but i do wonder what will happen when shit hits the fan. Also people need to stop saying he will be this pro-sharia advocate. He's a socialist and a progressive. Kids will be trannies before they convert to Islam to avoid taxes

The :optimistic: side of me says that this will serve as an example and wake people up to the ever-enshittening demographics of this country.
It's already happening to an extent

Even world politics doesn't get this weird. Trump is in a league of his own. To be fair though his behavior with respect to the Iran-Israel war makes perfect sense if you think of him as an old school King or Emperor from a thousand years ago.

Lots of theater, displays of power. Reciprocal face saving measures and then when its time to stop the nonsense "The war is now over, I have decreed it!", which was essentially what his "they don't know what the fuck they are doing" statement was.
Nah, his tweet naming it the "12 day war" was the "This war is now over, I have decreed it!" statement.

The "they don't know what the fuck they are doing" was legitimate, unfiltered exasperation that both parties were that desperate to throw the last punch before they were forced to separate.

the British used Indians for all their colonies, and a few decades later the empire basically and completely collapsed.
they more or less used Indians to destabilize the African workforce by putting them in submanagerial positions- where they would near exclusively work with each other- to avoid creating too large of a domestic African leadership class. The later British Empire was structured like a regional Tim Horton’s franchise.

Spamming jeets across the continent broke up labor into a British administration, an Indian lower management/skilled labor class, and African supplemental hard labor. This model is exactly how wealthy Arab nations work today. It’s how ethnic Chinese run SE Asia. Jeeting your workforce is not a bad way of keeping distance between you and whoever you’re trying to exploit.

The consequences are obvious. I also believe that the colonist-jeet-worker model (White, Arab, Chinese, whatever) is what’s leading to the popularity of jeet-hate worldwide. I guarantee half the seething anti-Indian instagram reels are being made (like most online content) by people in southeast Asia who can’t see themselves entering any kind of skilled trade.

Canada is pretty jeeted but it’s far from the only place dealing with a massive Indian influx; if your Asian country is not at war and doesn’t have biometric border controls, it is currently being swarmed by Indians even more Indian than those who can afford a ticket to Canada. The distinction between first/second/third world is irrelevant- there are two classes of country, ones with Indian inflow and ones without. The former are successful, the latter are not.

From the NATO presser I won't attach it because it was Trump and Hegseth saying that CNN "leak" was bullshit and even Iran is saying the place was heavily damaged now, but Vance posts a long nice piece about how the media is scum:
We won't know for a few weeks and Iran's actions could be read either way, either they realized how fucked they were after their facilities were destroyed and found a ceasefire desirable or their facilities were barely damaged and now they're stalling for as much time as possible.

He wants city owned grocery stores with low prices even though grocery stores already barely make money.

Has war always been this fake and gay?

im gonna bomb u

OK what time

How about tomorrow at 8

OK cool I'll move the important stuff out and let the boys know

Sounds good ty

IIRC the Napoleonic wars was kind of like that.

Which is why the British Empire was butthurt at American guerrillas not playing by the rules.

True true. Also implicit threat. The real earthquake here with respect to international relations was that a US President managed to tard wrangle the Israelies and the Iranians at the same time.

I see it as a double standard. They acknowledge the report is real. But they blame media for questioning if the attack had wiped out Iran's nuclear capabilities. Yet they themselves claim confidently that is has devastated and set Iran back decades.

So the opposition is wrong for drawing conclusions. But the Trump administration is not?

I dont claim to know whether or not Iran still has the ability to construct nukes. Or how badly they have been set back in their nuclear program. Though I think it is important to point out when they don't hold themselves to the same standard that they want others to.

Give me rainbows and rate me optimistic, but given Vance again calling out the intel community, maybe MAYBE Trump is going to use this as an excuse to purge the Glowies of anyone not loyal to him.

This is wildly speculative and it's more likely that the files are just fucking gone:

I wonder if the reason we haven't gotten Epstein files is Trump knows he can't handle the fallout of going against the intel community alone and needs Congress behind them. Could he be trying to build a case of "LOOK HOW CORRUPT THEY ARE" to finally drag the soft Republicans who are terrified into his camp on the issue?

Sure, but there about the same probability that he is not revealing the files cause he was diddling children, with Epstein and co.
I'm thinking the files are gone yeah
