I have a friend who argued with me that internet trans people aren't the majority of trans people and that I'm demonizing an entire group for the actions of a small group of internet types. The problem with his argument is that by definition, most trans people do have mental health problems because if you have suicidal thoughts about being born as the sex you are then that is a mental illness, no matter what anyone says. Also, lets say for argument's sake that the internet crazies are a vocal minority. Sometimes a vocal minority can make a bigger difference than the silent majority. The problem with trannies is that with how small their population is, its rare to actually find a trans person irl. Even if you did meet a nice trans person, I have always expressed pity for them rather than be more accepting with it. I remember going into an online vocal chat with this one TIF who talked about how she has autism and admits that she hated puberty growing up. It made her suicidal when she first bled. I felt bad, but there was nothing that convinced me that she was a man deep down and the only reason she's transitioning is because of how rough puberty is (Especially if you're a girl).
