Shit talk Fairy Tail all you want but he's still one of the few shonen authors who managed to properly handle a large cast of characters and frequently brought back and rotated them throughout the series. He also lets the female cast actually fight or do something.
So how in the world did the creator go from Rave Master to Fairy Tail, then?
Fairy Tail has the big issues of he never planned anything out so all the things introduced early end up being changed later. It still made a lot of money and was popular not so much for its story, but the characters themselves. Rave has a much better execution of its story and so did Eden Zero until he got bored and just rushed the ending.

Finished last season. Fire Force was good. Everything else i trudged through basically and don't remember nearly any of it.

Now, onto what i have been watching:

Finished Guilty Crown in a week and change. Edgy as fuck. Very 2011. The Dub made it less silly and easier to watch. That said... i liked it. A lot. You don't see this wild ass shit as much any more and it breaks my fuicking heart.

As for new shit: Clevatess

45 minute opening episode. No Iseaki bullshit, this is dark fantasy. I'm not going to spoil shit, but... I was fucking impressed. It looks amazing. Some of the shots were simply jaw dropping. The animators got extra rice ball rations when they worked on this. Also day 1 dub. Fucking sick as shit. Its your choice if you want Nip or English. It's good, fully recommend. Its also ONLY going to be 12 episodes, which with the pace it set... oh, its gonna be SPICY.

At least they were given a few episodes and enough advance notice to wrap up the story instead of having it just end abruptly, but yeah. If I had vast sums of money, I'd throw it at Sunrise to get the team back together and give Gundam X the final cour it deserved.

For me, I don't really watch or read a lot of long-runners to have that be an issue, but I think from my personal experience, 1 is worse for me. The only one that really comes to mind is Jojolion, which ended up dragging on and on and on with barely anything of interest happening, such that my interest in keeping up with it monthly started to flag. It didn't help that Araki seemed to have forgotten most of the initial hooks along the way (the Wall Eyes and what happened to Johnny, for instance), so it really felt like it was meandering a lot. Then it just ended with a pretty lame villain and I was just done with it. That lack of interest extended to part 9 when it finally came out (Jojolands? is that what it's called? I honestly forgot), such that I haven't even bothered to read it beyond the first chapter.

I dunno, maybe reading it again all in one go without having to wait a month between chapters might make it flow better, but I doubt it. It was the longest-running part by far and it had nothing to show for it, made all the worse by following my absolute favorite in SBR.
Man JojoLion was such a letdown.
You get basically a triello at the end with both Toru, the Higashikata family and Josuke closing in on the fruit with massive drama potential between the latter (use it for the kid or for Josuke's mother ?) only to have be limply resolved and somehow Josuke's mother gets completely forgotten about. That was like the one interesting conflict at the end.
Tbf most of the manga itself is meh. The rock people are lame and complete charisma black holes compared to the high that the Pillar Men were and the stands are so gimmicky it's like a parody of itself.

Zenigata and the Two Lupins was meh. I get it's nothing more than the final setup for The Immortal Bloodline but still woulda liked a bit more energy. Felt very going through not even all the motions, more like 1/4 of the motions. Fujiko's Lie, Goemon's Blood Spray, and Jigen's Gravestone were all pretty good to very good, guess they couldn't all be good

So the trailer for the Panty and Stocking season 2 dub is out and while I did not like they replaced the Funimation cast (since I think they did well for the roles), I am fine with the new voice cast since Stocking is hardly noticeable since the old cast is both too old and frankly were massive dicks in real life so it isn't too big a lost

Going to rewatch season 1 in Japanese since it's been so long since I watched Panty and Stocking

I think it's much funnier in Japanese. The English jokes just don't come across as well in, well, English, and the VAs are better, though I am generally a subs fag so I am very biased. Did the Jap ones get replaced or are they reprising their roles?

It's hard to find since it's only on Prime but here

Was going to start watching as well when I finished Dungeon Meshi (Dragon Falin is best Falin). Heard the dub was pretty good though. Feel like your doing yourself a disservice ignoring the dub lol.
Yeah I saw the dub for Panty and Stocking (it was back when I started getting into anime) so I am seeing the Japanese one for the first time

Just the English ones were replaced

They aren't terrible. To be completely fucking fair, its been 15 years. Even if you got everyone back, voices change. That isn't even including that half the funimation cast is assholes. As long as it is as crude, raunchy, and hilarious as the first, they'll do fine. Just sell it. Hard.
