Then how come previous generations before Baby Boomers never thought to name themselves? Pretentious asses. As if any demographic group acts as a monolith. It's only a tool for the intellectually lazy.
I clearly walked into the middle of something I'm missing context on. Baby Boomers didn't name themselves, academics older than them did because the postwar baby boom, mass media, and prosperity brought about a markedly different generation than what had been the norm before. And since academia was growing large/widespread enough to study that particular phenomenon, they applied it retroactively to other generations. If a generation was likely to name themselves, it was probably the Greatest Generation, tbh, though I'm just guessing based off of when studying generation theory started appealing to historians.

It's not, and was never meant to be, a prescriptive monolithic summation of an entire group, it's an aggregate descriptor. What age you were at experiencing past historical events shapes, in aggregate, how the people respond to future events. I don't see that as surprising. How much of outrage against a prospective war with Iran in this thread derived from people ITT who had grown up watching forever wars in Iraq and Afghanistan end with nothing but death/destruction? Certainly a lot. And their perspective would be different from someone who was of military age during the Gulf War. And theirs would be different from those who grew up during Vietnam. That's how people process current events, leveraging it against how past experience effected their outlook.

Brother there 840 billionaires in the US and 1.2 million illegals on Medicaid. If those dudes get a bigger piece of the cuts I really don't care. We fix this now or we aren't getting Social Security or Medicaid when we are old.
Illegals are ineligible for medicaid. I know you're a gullible simpleton who believes whatever Fox News tells him like a good little NPC, but it's really not the case.
Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid or CHIP, and only some lawfully present immigrants qualify subject to eligibility restrictions.
Again, I know you aren't very bright so thus you're more gullible, but it's the billionaires making you poor and raiding SS/Medicaid, not the illegals.

God fucking damn it.

Look he s your daddy too you went up and shilled for him at the GOP convention!

Trumpamania running wild brother!!
That was the imposter hired by that slanderous troll Ted Dibiase, brother. He was trying to make the Hulkster look mentally handicapped

From the past few weeks I've seen a lot of concern trolling over Medicaid more so since that bitch poop touched it but the increase of ICE funding to turbocharge deportations will help alleviate the problem of illegals on all of our welfare nigger programs . All the BS done to fuck with or attempt to fuck with the BBB is perfect ammo to primary all those faggots come the midterms.
Rick Wilson says vote blue or starve.webp

Why do so many of those read like a Fatpacks post?

If I really wanted to, and didn't mind spending an afternoon or two trying to find out how to access sites that would have the data, I could find some stupid sociology paper explaining exactly what I'm talking about. It took me minutes to find an old unedited article showing that the date had already leaped back 5 years to 1984-2000 by 2007.

The entire purpose of the term 'millenial', again as I was originally told back in the late 90's, was because that was the 'new generation' that was around for the turning of the millenium.
I think it's just changing times. Like Generation Alpha wasn't a term I heard personally until after 2020 even though the term had been coined as far back as 2008.
Why We Named Them Generation Alpha

When I was a teenager I also thought "millennial" included me too because I grew up in the new millennium, but then the "zoomer"/"Generation Z" term started getting used in the middle of the Trump term (probably because now many of them were becoming old enough to vote) and that was that.

The generation demarcations are consistent enough in recent times, but older generations are inconsistently broad, at least according to this graph.
X = 15 year period
Y = 15 year period
Z = 15 year period
BBoomers = 18 year period
Silent Generation = 17 year period
Greatest Generation = 26 year period
Lost Generation = 17 year period

I think because this is a more recent invention with a wide variety of interpretations, the year and range can differ by inventor. The people who game up with the whole idea of "generations" to begin with - Strauss & Howe - they had it so generations were born every 23 years. They put the start point of Millennials as being 1982 and the end point being 2005, and gen Z as 2006 to 2029.

I'm ready for the day when Thomas's opinion consists of four letters: FAFO.

Because it bears repeating--the Dems have been hollering about Repubs taking away Social Security and Medicaid since I was a kid back in the Stone Age, while never acknowledging its their constant wasteful spending policies and current illegal alien love that jeopardizes the system.

Funny, that.

Medicaid funds are released for otherwise unauthorized immigrants (aka illegal immigrants) for emergency procedures, and many states have pushed that definition by having illegal immigrants swamp emergency rooms for all care, emergency or routine: https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/press-...-federal-medicaid-funding-health-care-illegal
Under federal law, federal Medicaid funding is generally only available for emergency medical services for noncitizens with unsatisfactory immigration status who would otherwise be Medicaid-eligible, but some states have pushed the boundaries, putting taxpayers on the hook for benefits that are not allowed.
This often gets presented by media as if somehow illegals got themselves a medicaid card, but when you draw into the sources for any of those pieces (when provided), it's programs like that they're referring to.

I hijacked the convo with a rant. Attaching labels to groups has always been a pet peeve.

Also, the term "baby boomer" was first used in 1963 by Leslie Nason, academia's OG girlboss. Pretentious asses.

So brave.

The libtard canard about how tax cuts are bad because people who don't pay taxes don't benefit is the decades-old busted rhetoric that hasn't won them a single election in history.

Just a random philosophy thought here, the Civil Rights Act seems like the biggest Faustian bargain, you get one generation, maybe 2 that will fawn over you and get all sorts of unearned bennies at the cost of complete ruin after this generation passes.
So what you're saying is that I can have a nickel now, or a dollar in 5 minutes?

I wonder which, I, a nigger, might choose...

Jeffries makes BBB sound based as fuck in this fillibuster lmao "Mass deportations will be unleashed on steroids... Planned Parenthood will be defunded...tens of thousand will die...." Very cool thank you!

They need to choose someone who has some charisma to do this shit everytime dollar store Obama does these they do way more damage then good.

Im not sure they know what medicare is, its strictly for retirees 65 or older or young people with SUPER fucked shit

But...... To be fair you are kinda both right

Billionaires might suck but Medicaid/Medicare is just shy of 1.7 TRILLY
Most people, especially in Europe dont know Americas LARGEST budget expenditure is healthcare, nearly double the defense budget.

But in more ways then one the billionaires cant hold a candle to what the boomers and there kids did and are doing the fiscal health of this nation

You guys see that funny little red number all the way on the right? That scary guy is kinda new, atleast at this size. Defense has always been number 3 expenditure after healthcare and social security but now EVERY YEAR we pay more money, over a trillion dollars, on just the fucking interest to our debt

Check out the source if you like Kino numbers, all the numbers move in real time to

Trying to play word games about illegal aliens and legal residents doesn't mean anything when you are just calling every illegal alien a 'refugee' or an 'entrants' pretending that they are here legally. Magic words don't turn border jumpers into Americans and they shouldn't be entitled to any benefits (which they are getting). I don't understand why people like you, honestly. At least fatpacks is a reverse Oracle and Johnbadman is funny.

That's an incredibly smart part of medicaid, though. As per the link in my OP (point #3), emergency medicaid spending is less than 1% of Medicaid spending. It's a literal drop in the bucket, and Medicaid is getting gutted so that billionaires can get tax cuts.

The libtard canard about how tax cuts are bad because people who don't pay taxes don't benefit is the decades-old busted rhetoric that hasn't won them a single election in history.
It's cute when people like you, who live on welfare, argue that billionaires should get tax cuts :story:

So, the champaign socialist is calling people poor. Amazing that you don't pay non capital gains taxes and thus want to spend other people's money on your pets and slaves.
