You paint quite a picture. I bet he also says this about other people, and after insulting them in some way and raising the stakes of the dispute in the first place.

Let's make it happen, damn it! Let's get 1.6 mill!

Holy shit, does that mean WoW turns into a single player game and I can mod it so all the faggots, niggers and troons get burned at the stake by the Scarlet crusade now?
Well no, but you could probably do that anyways, there's been private WoW servers for decades. It's not a retroactive thing, all current games will not be protected.

They targeted gamers.

Gamers.

We're a group of people who will sit for hours, days, even weeks on end performing some of the hardest, most mentally demanding tasks. Over, and over, and over all for nothing more than a little digital token saying we did.

We'll punish our selfs doing things others would consider torture, because we think it's fun.

We'll spend most if not all of our free time min maxing the stats of a fictional character all to draw out a single extra point of damage per second.

Many of us have made careers out of doing just these things: slogging through the grind, all day, the same quests over and over, hundreds of times to the point where we know evety little detail such that some have attained such gamer nirvana that they can literally play these games blindfolded.

Do these people have any idea how many controllers have been smashed, systems over heated, disks and carts destroyed 8n frustration? All to latter be referred to as bragging rights?

These people honestly think this is a battle they can win? They take our media? We're already building a new one without them. They take our devs? Gamers aren't shy about throwing their money else where, or even making the games our selves. They think calling us racist, mysoginistic, rape apologists is going to change us? We've been called worse things by prepubescent 10 year olds with a shitty head set. They picked a fight against a group that's already grown desensitized to their strategies and methods. Who enjoy the battle of attrition they've threatened us with. Who take it as a challange when they tell us we no longer matter. Our obsession with proving we can after being told we can't is so deeply ingrained from years of dealing with big brothers/sisters and friends laughing at how pathetic we used to be that proving you people wrong has become a very real need; a honed reflex.

Gamers are competitive, hard core, by nature. We love a challange. The worst thing you did in all of this was to challange us. You're not special, you're not original, you're not the first; this is just another boss fight.

I hope so, then the game can finally be good again instead of whatever the fuck they did with it with the last nigger faggot cinematics for the campaign

"The Crew" is not the inciting thing for this. Throughout ross's videos over 10 years he's been pissed about games being killed, and over 6 years ago he made this video https://youtu.be/tUAX0gnZ3Nw. In an interview here https://youtu.be/sJuKpajV1XI he says that "The Crew" being killed was just a good example for what he was already gonna do.
It kinda is, as it was the thing that REALLY got him into overdrive about this stuff. The crew was what made something snap in him to push hard
If you watch the review, you will know that The Crew was nearly "Dream Game" territory for him, but it's bittersweet cause it had some flaws that kept the game from reaching that height AND it was on the death row by needing to connect to a central server. Ross knew it was going to die, it was just a matter of time. He played other games that were going to die, sure, but this was the one since he liked it very much, there really isn't anything like The Crew out there.

I am retarded, so if you watched his 1h video where he dissects Mald's twisted views on the initiative you'll probably understand it better than what you'd get by listening to me, but the gist of it is that devs will have to engineer games in a way that it will be possible for anyone who bought a game to run their server, even if for console that means renting their own instead of hosting it locally, if I'm not mistaken. As long as devs give you the necessary software bits, even if stripped down to the bare minimum because of, for example, some services that the devs/publisher don't own and have bought a license for, as long as the game is in a playable state (vague wording is intentional), we're good. I'm no expert but I'm thinking something like skill-based matchmaking. If it's from a third party, and not from the devs/publisher, they simply won't package it with the EoL bits, the game is still in a playable state though, so they're good.

As I said, watching the video will explain things better, as my understanding is probably partial or wrong somewhere, especially technicalities, but I hope it's enough to give an idea!
Nah DW that makes sense to me as a fellow retard, mostly was confused because private servers are much more common on PC compared to consoles. if they can make it so they have to build in that server redirection in game that would be great. consoles are already becoming like pc with shit like physical games being just a key for digital downloads so why not at least get some of the benefits.

Slightly disappointed that the 1 million mark didn't happen on the 4th of July just for the irony of it being an EU incitive and all.
