I think a lot of people forget the US government started by telling people it was a nothing burger & that you don't need to worry, only to flip the script later with the mask mandates & shutting down jobs nationally so they could stockpile a bunch of masks. That was literally the stated reason why, was so that medical staff could have a stockpile of masks & medical equipment before people start panic buying. I sympathies with people disillusioned with the government over covid but not to the extent that people say it was fake, or that no one died from it.

Remember when they went to pick up the American citizens in China and the soldiers were wearing MOPP suits with their own oxygen supply? Shit was crazy. I think by the time he made his first stream on it there were already a couple dozen "coronavirus generals" on 4chan. 4chan /pol/ at the time was decidedly on the happening train at that point but it turned out to just be the flu.
