It could also be she has romanticized dying a martyr’s death and being posthumously honored despite never having achieved anything in her life. She won’t, like an old friend of mine in Israel did a few years ago, die while stopping a terrorist from stabbing an innocent woman. She’ll just lie there and scream. Why would going to Syria for a few weeks cause him to lose his residency in Kuwait? His residency card should be good for 6 months while outside the country. Unless.... is she saying he was deported?

Here’s exactly what she said: “I don’t like the idea of having to travel honestly. Salah too. Salah would… harder for him to go to Thailand. When he was, had his Kuwait residency it was easier. We could go to Malaysia but I don’t know”. Timestamp 28:40 in the above stream. I’d say that’s a pretty telling slip by her that he had indeed, somehow, had it revoked.

The funny thing is that even for actual beezers it would be a natural question to wonder why Salah, international business titan known the world over as the CEO of CEO Business, Inc., would suddenly have residency problems or difficulty traveling. Is Scrumptious Syria, land of peace and beauty, somehow off-putting to the world to the point where such an industry powerhouse would be shunned due to his heritage? The mind boggles.

He's never had permanent residency. His residency had to be renewed periodically and was tied to his "business" in Kuwait. During the time Chantal was in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti government was constantly changing its rules regarding foreign nationals and it's very possible that they changed their rules regarding Syrian nationals once the Assad regime fell.

There was a high profile prosecution recently of a Kuwaiti and Syrian nationals over citizenship fraud, so it's also possible that Kuwaitis have become less willing to help Syrians game the immigration system through fake employment and fake business interests.

Her first sentence when she got to Syria was, paraphrased, “ I’m livin…I’m in Syria.” She never finished the word living. She knew from day 1 that she had very limited time there, so all this stuff about moving to Salah's house, roughing it, not wanting to travel anymore, and the weight loss was all rule #1.

It seems that whatever Salah had going on that kept him in Kuwait, Chantal caused the spotlight to be put on him. He’d been gaming the system for a decade, then he imports the gunt and it all goes wrong. He truly is an idiot.

I wonder what her plan is now? She’s talked about Maylasia enough, but Chins is a human who is incapable of living alone or caring for herself in any way. If she can’t stay in Syria and can’t go home to Canada and Salah can’t go anywhere, she is really fucked.
