I get the impression Trump is wanting to focus on stories/interpretations that come across as more flattering to him, so a story like "releasing the Epstein list" may annoy him since it's something he has to delegate and he hasn't wanted to act in a way that allows for those he's appointed to really just carry out their jobs since he wanted to have a hand in everything.

It's why we have Rubio play-acting like he's performing several different jobs at once and Tulsi Gabbard being left out of meetings since she may in reality be a meaningless figurehead in Trump's eyes.

The kicker is, the US must be paying these countries a pretty penny to get these "criminals" off their hands, because they sure as hell aren't incurring the expense. And "Alligator Alcatraz" has cost hundreds of millions already.
