I DM'd Null about the @CharlesNguyen connection, and while he did not have any smoking guns linking the two accounts together, he also could not rule out that these accounts are both run by Card. He claimed that usually there are things on the moderator side that don't line up between accounts, ruling out potential sockpuppets, but this is not the case with Nguyen and Card.

josh mentioned this on mati yesterday during a segment where he read some of this thread, he said he didn't know he was supposed to reply and reschedule because card said he was busy. he just thought that was the end of it and didn't realise he wanted him to try to find another date. so no card didn't lie about that particular thing, josh actually didn't get back to him

Everyone loves the person streams, but they're a lot of effort to get "right" so I'm glad they're never rushed out, especially the interviews, I imagine the main obstacle to getting more than 1 or so a year out is... the people lol. The primary reason I've believed in strictly non-hierarchical organising, in politics and elsewhere, my entire adult life is because this is what happens when you've got one person at the top handing down rules. Those rules just become dogma for easily-swayed retards to parrot like they're self-evidently good ideas.

It doesn't matter if you're in a workplace, a university, online, or anywhere else: the culture of a space is what you make of it. You should feel absolutely no need to adhere to the cultural dictates of that space just because.
If anything, this should go double for a website - being an intangible medium where there will be absolutely no repercussions for treating the space like the social playground it is.
Say what you want about Tumblr/4chan/SomethingAwful, at least all those sites' most committed users know, very correctly, you should always hate, undermine, and ignore the rules and the people who attempt to enforce them.

Your sort of rigid, dogmatic, adherence to arbitrarily-imposed instruction is honestly one of the most pathetic traits someone can have. And frankly there's a reason why, among friends, we call it "Gentile Mindset".

The "rules" here aren't some "dogma" we follow. This site has a hard enough time staying online just with what people say about it despite the truth of the matter. The rules are to prevent painting an even bigger target on the site as well as keep the entertainment fresh.

It is infinitely more interesting to watch a unique individual or lolcow on the internet operate in a vacuum. They will do entertaining things on their own without your external input. Some of the worst things in the history of the site have been the direct result of retards fucking with people most notably when those unaffiliated people convinced Chris Chan to rape his mother.

So no this isn't just a case of some dickhead in a big hat handing out mandates, there are real reasons for this.

Honestly the fact you got such a response should show you that the site at large thought better of you. It is rather commonly accepted that the site rules to an extent do not apply to lolcows themselves as they aren't gonna listen anyways. The fact everyone both politely and otherwise attempted to direct you to the rules rather than just accept your retarded behavior shows most of us didn't think of you as a lolcow this has likely changed for everyone on the fence.
