Of course they're trannies

Anyone unironically calling themselves a communist is generally someone that goes against the entire fucking ideology that they are supporting and would get shot on the spot or sent to a gulag for life just because of who they are

Same shit with eastern european skinheads (and femboys for some reason) calling themselves fucking nazis

99% of all neo-commies and neo-nazis are just children or very young adults LARPing for attention. The legitimate ones refer to themselves as socialists and national socialists respectively. Anyone who festoons themselves or their mom's apartment in early 20th century totalitarian imagery is either a LARPer or being groomed into committing an atrocity.

One of the Four Noble Truths about Reddit is that, bots notwithstanding, the average age of a commenter is around 18, and the average mental age of a commenter is around 13.

Reddit has been around along time. It would be closer to mid 30s than teens now. Teens aren't going to use an old website like Reddit, they use Tiktok and Instagram.

What do you guys think of all the fitness related subreddits? I find myself stumbling upon there occasionally unintentionally when googling for lifting/cardio advice, but I'm never really sure how much to trust redditors on the matter as it feels like somewhat of an oxymoron to have fitness and redditors in the same sentence. Are they actually normal people giving typical advice or is there some funny shit going on that I'm unaware of?
You're right to be wary, but they're legit. The problem is you've based your hypothesis off of your (valid) stereotype of redditors instead of the reality of weightlifting: if you've ever visited or seen screenshots from the bodybuilding.com forum (RIP) or 4chan's /fit/, you'd fast learn there is a hysterical amount of based autism in the community. In fact, those subreddits, in which I've found decent to great advice, are even less unhinged than the former examples. For funny, it might not be the shining standard of humor but I get some good chuckles out of r/GymMemes.

Back to the stereotypical redditors—"it feels like somewhat of an oxymoron to have fitness and redditors in the same sentence"—those types completely avoid the fitness subreddits, fitness in general, and just bitch about ableists and being overweight to circlejerk and farm karma.

The only adults who stuck around there are the ones that are literal, actual retards or cluster B wrecks. Nobody who was frequenting Reddit in 2010 is still there save for a handful of lunatics who have since trooned out and become power mods. Also the odd tourist who remembers the good times and thinks that Reddit can't possibly be as bad as the last time they checked, right? It must have just been a down year because of the election the race riots the other election the most recent race riots.

The reason college students use Reddit is because it still somehow has a reputation as being an intellectual website for Very Smart people who want to discuss their Very Good opinions, especially political ones. Virtually every teenage leftist is on Reddit to some degree until they grow up and realize that it's not normal for r/pics to be saturated with low effort progressive propaganda and that perhaps something is amiss. But that's okay, because there's always a new crop of brainwashed pseudo-communist freshmen to shit up the site every single year, forever.

Also how Reddit gatekeeps against new accounts. Unless you know how to exploit the karma system, if you're some kid who lurked a bit and signed up, you'll be barred from participating in most active subs right away.

Most subs require an account that is a month old and/or has positive karma and the ones that don't basically ensure you have to comply with the reddit faggots propaganda to get upvotes and reach that karma threshold.

I can't browse Reddit for more than 30 seconds even if I'm looking for something specific anymore. Half the posts are just people reposting boomer right wing memes and then going NUH UH or complaining about anti-woke youtubers eating a sandwitch that day or some shit. Literally every single big sub is like this and I don't understand how someone stay sane seeing this slop every day.

I realize the humor in me complaining about people complaining... about people complaining, but jesus christ it's the bread and butter of like 500 different subs shitting up the front page and it's all such low effort karma farming. They aren't even defending the things they're trying to defend anymore, they're just bitching about other people not liking it and/or calling the critics racist poo-poo heads then calling it a day.

It's like watching a toddler try to argue with their imaginary friend.

from what i remember tolkien was
>devout christian
>anti war
>anti industrialist
>environmentalist
>traditionalist
He most certainly wasn’t anti-war. He recognized that war a symptom of a greater problem, which he largely blamed on industrialization and Godlessness.

Tolkien’s politics aren’t nuanced at all. He was absolutely conservative. He even hated all the hippie fans of LOTR when it became popular in America in the 60s.

No he didn't hate hippies, he hated how love of his books had become quasi-religious. It's funny because that shit only grew and grew, he'd be disgusted with how people treat him as the king of modern fantasy if anything.

Honestly, we could go in circles about this but I don't think discussion of how much a dead man would align with our modern day politics is a very productive avenue.

Based Tolkien. Hippies are vermin and the police should've brutalized and killed more of them.

He literally called them a ‘deplorable cultus’. He also recited his prayers in Latin in mass after the Vatican switched to vernacular in outright defiance of the liberal ecumenisms of the church. Saying he wasn’t conservative or that it’s some kind of debate is retarded.

r/conservative is currently in full revolt against Trump over the Epstein files. At the beginning it looked like moderators were suppressing and deleting comments pointing out out Trump's obvious hypocrisy. But it didn't work. It's not hard to see why.

This is a massive fuck up for Trump. Him and his entire current cabinet campaigned on releasing this information. Now 6 months into office they're denying the list even exists and are tampering with the prison footage that supposedly didn't exist either.

Trump is also doing the usual lefty tactic of appealing to morality when people are asking him about Epstein. "Why are you asking me about this? What about the kids dying in Texas?"

It's kind of sad really. Conservative was never a good sub to begin with because it's a right wing circlejerk that somehow wasn't banned off Reddit, but now people are starting to realize how little their opinions matter on there. The sub requires you to have a very high amount of karma to even join. And then you have to be approved for a "Conservative" flair by the moderators. They even say they will not allow you in if you have leftist opinions or are even a libertarian. I cannot imagine the mods on there letting people who speak out against Trump keep their posting privileges on there.

I'm putting this here instead of the Elden Ring thread because it's just peak reddit, and I don't want such a historic hissy fit to get lost in the sauce.
